Really don't like the setup. I'd prefer all the top-polling candidates (Biden, Sanders, Harris, Warren, Buttigieg) be on stage together. I think that's how the Republicans did it in 2016. Trump and all the high-polling candidates in one debate, Santorum and all the wannabes in another.

Yeah I saw an interview with him the other day that I liked. He even made UBI make sense to me. I hadn't seen any mention of the circumcision thing here because when I log on, I just go to the most recent comment. So that must have been a conversation over the weekend or something.mickeyrat said:

The US does not even have the money to pay for their programs now without running deficits. Ontario ran a UBI, it was cancelled early, I believe Finlands UBI was cancelled early...paying people to do nothing has never been a good motivator...Canada does not have the money for UBI...the feds cannot pay for the programs we have in Canada without running deficits. Yeah it's such a delicate line to straddle. There are certainly values that you learn in business that could/should be applied to gov't. But at the same time, a business operates to generate profits for its stakeholders. That's not the objective for government. There was a time when the Democrats advocated government as a way to better society and Republicans were the voice of caution. And they would work together to land somewhere in the middle. I don't agree with deficits. In Ontario, we spend a billion 13 billion a year just to service the debt, federally it's over 30 billion...just servicing the debt and spending they do not have...it is bullshit...Give Peas A Chance…0 -

I agree. He's a carnival barker and a clown. But Bush* was kind of a business person. Romney definitely was. I wouldn't call myself a deficit hawk. I don't agree with deficits. In Ontario, we spend a billion 13 billion a year just to service the debt, federally it's over 30 billion...just servicing the debt and spending they do not have...it is bullshit...

I have no problem with a deficit in trying times, war, recessions, depressions...but in Canada, our PM raves about how great the economy is and has bee running 20 billion surpluses...in supposed good times...some say a recession is on the horizon...those deficits will balloon to well over 50 billion/year.
