She got the debate going and it’ll draw a distinction between the dem candidate and Team Trump Treason and “we dig coal.”

How long has Biden been in politics?  He'll choose those he has been most loyal to him.  I can not see him selecting a 1 term member of Congress to be in his cabinet.
He is embracing the Green New Deal.
I don't know if I would define it like that.  The NY Times drew the distinctions and the apt comparisons.  The New Green Deal didn't break intellectual ground across the board.
And no way should she have a cabinet position.  Her immaturity would eliminate her from my consideration, I can say that.  Her comments to Delaney telling him to 'sashay' away was yet another example of her not quite being ready for the big time.
Agreed. No chance AOC would be part of the Biden administration. Not much of a difference between appointing her or Betsy DeVos other than politics. Neither should be considered qualified for a job heading a department and certainly not a cabinet level position. As much as I rag on DeVos, I'm afraid I'd do the same thing with AOC. She needs to stay where she is for a few terms and get a little seasoning and experience before I'd trust her in a high-level position.

Which I find troubling, and I think it's shit like this, among other things, that harm the party. But like Tempo said, he is at least embracing the New Green Deal (for now), so he's not completely close minded. And he's not Trump. He doesn't have to surround himself only with "those who have been most loyal to him". I think that is too extreme an assumption. I still don't think he'd pick AOC for his cabinet, but not because of that. Just because he'd be scared that she in particular would challenge him too much.

I agree with everything but the last sentence.  Being a cabinet member means  you are in charge of at least one massive agency in federal government.  It's not just a consultative position.  You should not only be an expert in the specific field, but you should have deep and relevant leadership/management experience.  At her age and dearth of experience, I don't know how one could appoint her to be the leader of the federal bureaucracy.

Seems she was ahead of the curve. And with all the crazy weather we've been having and further evidence of global climate change, more Americans, particularly younger voters, are for action.

    Campaign 2020
The plan appears at least in part aimed at blunting criticisms of environmentalists and others on the left that Biden's presidential campaign is out of step with the current Democratic Party.
You think Biden would offer Cortez a spot in his cabinet?
Don't know.  How does her hair smell?

I've been watching more videos of her. I've completely switched stances. She's incredibly well informed and takes people to task. Dig it.

Here is a good topic she discusses.  Wage increases.

I hate when someone says "for a bartender, $174K a year is quite an increase!"  Sure it is but look where she has to live now, what her job entails, whom she has to hire.  That 55k all around for her staff won't last long if she wants to retain good people.

I like her stance on this and opposition to what she is advocating is pure uncalled for bias.

    Thoughts?

First, I have no issue if there is a COLA in place for staff.  It's not clear to me whether this particular amendment was just for lawmaker COLA or for staff too.
Second, I agree that the bartender from Queens swipe is stupid.
Third, I think her argument on why they should get a raise, that it reduces the pressure to be corrupt, is completely flawed.  Quid pro quo type corruption in congress is related to money flowing into campaigns, not directly into the purses.  If you raking from your campaign, you are breaking the law and a 2% COLA every year isn't stopping that.

BTW, her staff money doesn't come out of her 174k.  That's her salary.  There's a budget for staff.

I know that, I was throwing it in there to support the raises.

It drives me nuts that congress is in charge of approving their own pay raises.  That said, something like a COLA keeps it more ethical.  I don't know what the right level of pay is, but a COLA seems reasonable.

I think her point about people taking $ if they don;t get pay raises is pretty stupid though.  There was a COLA for a long time no?  Did it stop the lobbying?  Didn't think so.  Why can we just have an honest discussion about it.

Congress controls the purse, so there really isn't another option Constitutionally speaking.  At the end of the day, it still needs to be a bill that the President signs, I believe.

More of this in politics would be nice.  Yes, birth control should be free.  Anything to keep more people off the planet we should invest in.  Maybe abortion should free???
