Q: Why does Justin Amash say that the National Suicide Hotline Improvement Act is unconstitutional? What part does it violate?
A: Because he’s a hypocritical cretin.
He says that he’s all about limiting the federal government to specifically enumerated powers, but had absolutely no trouble at all supporting government overreach when a conservative project is on the table. For example, he is in favor of banning abortion at the federal level, including family planning and other resources.
Funny how all these “small-government” conservatives are all for big government as soon as they want something.
Haha.

"THE FIELD"
I don’t love that we’d even consider someone being honest and standing up for the rule of law a "hero." But when a Republican challenges Trump, it’s at least a big story. Bet he looked at his state, had a meeting with his people and decided that "I am not at risk back home for going against the president" and did it.OnWis97 said:

I don't think he sat at home, drinking a glass of rosé and just got some feeling to be spontaneous.
If he was at risk - would he have done it?"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

I don’t care what motivates a person to do something. If you know something needs to be done, and someone else feels it should be done but for different reasons, why should that matter? That’s called real life - motivating people to coming around to the right way of thinking by putting it in terms of “what’s in it for me”.Spiritual_Chaos said:

2018Sorry for butting in, but..... I think motive is very, very important. Yes, results matter obviously, but the motivation behind actions always tells a big story, and usually guides the direction of whatever is at stake.

The motivations tell stories, which is why I think it’d be silly to look at this guy as anything ‘heroic’, but I don’t see any movement of the pendulum to act for noble reasons any time soon based on the (not all that recent) race to the bottom of the moral barrel from many Republicans. If you agree with that premise, and want results, then how do we get results if we’re to insist on the results for the right reasons?
Forgive me for being cynical, and as I always say on here, I would absolutely love to be wrong, but I don’t think we can have our cake and eat it too in this case, and I think we risk jeopardizing the results we want if we’re to insist on alignment on motives.'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

I'd say without context it's a meaningless blanket statement.benjs said:

Benji: I want to kiss you, because I love you so much.
Person: I want to kiss you too, because the voices in my head force me to kiss people that disgust me.
Different motivations. I think you would care in that context.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0
