never watched a single ep of Sopranos. mostly because I didn't ever have HBO, and couldn't be bothered to download it all.

But Breaking Bad is the best series I've seen.
I think you can watch it on Amazon Prime now.

    Happy 20th Anniversary!

I've been watching a lot of the marathon they've been showing on HBO this week. Anyone else?

I don't want to be a schill or anything, but I want to suggest that you subscribe to Amazon Prime. It's a great way to save a ton on shopping/shipping, plus you get Prime Video, which is really good, plus Prime Music. Probably some other things too, that I don't use, but someone must. It's $80CAD/year, which is a really good deal.... Of course, some people are principally against shopping via Amazon vs in-person stores... Hypocritically, I've chosen to overlook this. Man, shopping online is so much fucking easier. I'd never do it for clothes I haven't worn before, nor for most groceries, but man, for household goods and stuff, as well as vinyl, it's SO much easier and usually cheaper to have it delivered. For free.

Loved Sopranos.  Game of Thrones now sits upon the iron throne and is the best HBO series to date
i agree with this. i loved the sopranos when it was current and an active series. i went back and watched the entire series as it was on marathon on hbo the last week. i realized that the only characters i ever really liked were paulie, sil, and phil. i hated all of the rest of them. i also hated the ending of the final episode.

i don't see anything beating game of thrones unless this new season sucks. i did not care for some of the story arcs this last season so i am not setting my expectations too high.

I've been going through and watching random / favorite episodes - Barren Pines, the college trip and that fucking Reagan bust, the killing of Big Pussy, the ep where Furio had the chance to kill Tony by the helicopter but didn't, Second Opinion, and of course, this gem:

That looks bitchin'.  Crazy to see his son there and the many thoughts that bounced around while watching made that a lot of fun.
Not sure it could possibly live up to the original -- never know -- but it looks really good based on that.

Vera Famiglia as Liva really kinda looks like Carmela. I bet that was not a coincidence. The eyes especially.

Frank Lucas plays a role in it?
[Love the depiction of Bumpy Johnson in Godfather of Harlem and he was Lucas' mentor]

Young versions of Carm, Uncle Jun, Paulie, Sylvio, his bitch on wheels mother Livia, we get to meet Dickie.  Big Pussy?
    Good actors shown....

This is going to be interesting.
