Anybody else get that "calm before the storm" feeling recently. I've just got a feeling we are in for some non-lame PJ news within the next 30 days.

I hope so but why the secrecy and no legitimate rumours this time? Not one rumour for a hold on an arena or something along those lines. All we have is a wishlist of bands for Woodstock 50 to go off of.

I still think it is all about the festivals unless they really are working on a new record. If they are working on a record, I do not expect much until later in the year.

Playing a few festivals refreshes their nationwide popularity, thus generating more buzz a few months later or a record release and tour. Just my speculation of course.

Well Ed is in Hawaii and mike is doing his thing in Seattle so I can’t see how they are recording as a band.

Festivals for the second half of the year are usually announced in April (Osheaga, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, ACL, Voodoo Fest).  Without any current rumours or holds on venues leaking, I doubt PJ is playing anywhere the first half of 2019.  I’d imagine any touring would be structured around at least a couple of the festivals I mentioned.
    2003 - June 15 Fargo
    2005 - Sept 1 George, Sept 8 Winnipeg
2006 - May 9/10 Toronto, June 26/27 St. Paul, July 22/23 George, Oct 21/22 Mountain View
    2007 - Aug 2/5 Chicago
    2008 - June 22 Washington, June 24/25 New York
    2009 - Aug 21 Toronto, Aug 23/24 Chicago, Sept 21/22 Seattle, Oct 27/28/30/31 Philadelphia
    2010 - May 15 Hartford, May 17 Boston, Oct 23/24 Mountain View
2011 - Sept 3/4 Alpine Valley, Sept 11/12 Toronto, Sept 17 Winnipeg, Sept 19 Saskatoon
    2012 - Sept 30 Missoula
2013 - July 16 London, July 19 Chicago, Oct 12 Buffalo, Dec 2 Calgary, Dec 4 Vancouver, Dec 6 Seattle
    2014 - Oct 16 Detroit, Oct 19 St. Paul, Oct 20 Milwaukee
    2015 - Sept 23 (Colbert)/Sept 26, New York

Agreed. It is really looking like it is 2013 all over again though I am really curious if they will tour in October this go around. Voodoo Fest was announced in April in 2013 and the rest was announced in early July. That or we are getting fuck all this year.

Dimi’s operative word is “some”.    So, smells like a small regional thing (like 2016) or?

Wait! Maybe that's it! Maybe the 10C/PJ will be hosting Game of Thrones watch parties where "some of us" will be selected to watch an episode with the band.

Today’s Sunday Special Set features a close look at legendary @pearljam and @soundgardendrummer @themattcameron ‘s Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple Kit. All shells are finished in Matte Black and have a Custom “MC” logo badge. With @pearljam Matt plays 24”x14” bass drum, 12” and 13”toms + 16” and 18” floor toms and all Yamaha hardware. Pics were taken before Matt hit the stage with Pearl Jam at this year’s @madcoolfestival, where the band excited the 80.000 fans attending the festival. We look forward to seeing more of Matt with his kit on stages worldwide in 2019! #yamahadrums #mattcameron #yamaha#drums #drummer #pearljam#soundgarden

As per Wikipedia it was released in Oct 2013 and they first started composing in 2011 and recording in 2012, but had a long break for solo projects before continuing recording in March 2013.  It doesn't exactly say this but it seems to imply they recorded half of it in 12 and half in 13, more or less.

The first session was sometime in 2011 which yielded “Ole” and the second session was Feb or March 2013.

If they held it secret until the same week that it was to be released and this guy spilled the beans without Jeff telling him to, then they may no longer be real good friends.
