Man at this point in the game we’re playing with house money. Let’s just enjoy what they do or when they play. This band dosent owe anyone anything.
They have given me some of some of the best days and times of my life.
Just enjoy the ride.
Actually, they do. A 2016 and a 2018 Fan Club Single to 1,000's of fan club members to be more precise.

Every ballpark show has felt like a special occasion. Playing Wrigley and Fenway, historic venues in favorite cities, isn't a problem. If they start playing ballparks in random cities then I will agree with calls for no more stadium shows.
I completely agree with you on this.
You see me empty, Sir, do not pause and inquire, simply assume and refill.

It is a bummer that the next announcement will probably be an Eddie solo tour. If he played another place like Taormina I'd consider it, but not sure I'd drive much longer than an hour for a solo Ed show. Been there done that until he releases a new album. PJ is where it is at.

Thought this same thing last night though I would make the drive to Boston if he did USA tour for sure. If there is no destination show in Europe then it is a no go for me and probably a no even then if it does happen.

I would actually drive/fly the same distance to see a PJ or EV show. Might even say I'd drive/fly even further for an EV gig.

Because Ed shows are generally in theaters or just because you like them the same?

At an Ed show, I focus solely on the music and the emotion. Not on the next song, or on whether or not there will be a rarity. Saw him in London in 2017, not great seats about 10th row in balcony, but felt as if I was the only one in the room. Out of Sand, I'm so Tired, Black with the quartet. Felt like the luckiest guy in the world being able to witness this. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some great PJ sets over the years, but really feel like the best is in the past, whereas Ed's intensity still feels like he plays for the first time.

I want a new album before any new tour dates, preferably a US arena tour. Would like a tour with some places the band hasn't played before or in a long while;

One of my favourites for sure from the 2003 tour. So many great performances of classic PJ tunes.

Nice, so the timeframe seems to be mid July for potentional further European dates. July is the main holiday month over here, so no problem getting time off from work then.
Special guest does not mean solo though no? Or am I missing something here? As a special guest I see him coming out for a couple of songs or am I wrong on that?

no , it means he´s opening for them as a solo artist.
We are happy to announce that Eddie Vedder will be performing in London supporting The Who at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, July 6th!
Why would they put supporting there and not opening then? Probably looking too much into it but would hate to go all that way for a couple of Eddie songs and a bunch of The Who.

I suspect it's Eddie solo as an opening act and then maybe a few songs with The Who.

There are other acts announced, Eddie Vedder and the Kaiser Chiefs. Quite often 'support acts' are referred to as special guests over here. Ozzy Osbourne has Judas Priest as special guests on his tour, Bon Jovi have Manic Street Preachers as their special guests. Sort of less supporting or opening for the artist but also playing if that makes sense.
