I referred to race because it is an overly white and aged populace that make up his base. Also, more disproportionately likely to be affected by a government shutdown. 50% of Americans aren't in the stock market so maybe his base won't even notice nor care? You might want to bag a few deers, gooses, ducks and wild bores and hunker down in your bunker when it all finally goes down.PJPOWER said:

Not so well for his overly white, old base in retirement or approaching it. More brilliant brilliance in all its brilliancy. The Syrian pullout, the wall funding demand, his attacks on Lindsey and leaving Corker out in the cold? He's ensuring there will be a conviction in the senate. Its hilarious watching a rat lash out and those still defending him. Won't be long until its just Team Trump Treason and Ghouliani. Any over/under on the number of days until flames are spotted in the third floor windows of the White House? SO MUCH WINNING!PJPOWER said:

Not sure I have enough bags of popcorn for when it all finally goes down. May even have to resubscribe to cable!

Not with Team Trump Treason and his D team at the helm. Abject failure of a response made 10X worse by mismanagement and incompetence. Hey, but with oil prices in free fall, I look forward to the unemployment numbers ticking up, going with my gut on that.CM189191 said:

First, ISIS is not defeated. The caliphate state they desired is no more, but the are still 20 to 30k fighters on the region. Think of the power vacuum that ensued when we left Iraq too quickly. Russia will be filling that gap. Last, we are leaving the Kurds high and dry yet again.tempo_n_groove said:

There a right way and a wrong way to pull out. You can't just pull out without warning like this. It's going to leave a mess in the void we left behind.mrussel1 said:

That's wrong on many levels. These aren't drafted children. This is the career they chose, eyes wide open. In today's world, we are checking our strategic enemies through these strategic campaigns. Plus Syria, with Russian help, has slaughtered countless innocent people.my2hands said:Who gives a shit if Russia fills the void... any time America pulls our kids out of a war it's a good fucking thing.0 -

I don’t know what the answer is for the unrest the folks there are subjected to, but I can’t help feeling that he was right- especially when western motives aren’t exactly altruistic.
I don’t know. I truly don’t and aren’t going to pretend I do (not saying anyone is doing that)."My brain's a good brain!"0 -
I think Hannity or Carlson would be great replacements for Mattis.

If I’m understanding correctly from reading your words, you’re suggesting the following:my2hands said:Who gives a shit if Russia fills the void... any time America pulls our kids out of a war it's a good fucking thing.
There is never a wrong time
1. American intervention could only be the worst intervention when compared to Russian intervention
2. Either American retreat will result in a net reduction in lives lost to war, or American lives are more valuable than foreign lives
3. Exit strategies need not exist for good results
I think anywhere between some and most times, you could be right, but I don’t understand how you can make these statements in such a binary way as though they’ll always be correct. That seems rash and reckless. Is there no room for context in your line of thought on this?'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

Absolutely ridiculous. How many people here support the prison reform that was passed and pushed by Trump? My guess, almost all of them. If true, your statement is empirically incorrect.Jason P said:Trump could accidentally fart the cure for AIDS and everyone here would be outraged that he had the audacity to cure AIDS using his butt.

If Team Trump Treason knew before hand that his fart could cure aids, he’d hold it in and burp, thus ruining meatloaf for those of us who enjoy it. Then he’d brag about how he could have cured aids but since he doesn’t have it, why bother?Jason P said:Trump could accidentally fart the cure for AIDS and everyone here would be outraged that he had the audacity to cure AIDS using his butt.
