Why was a dead guy on the ballot anyway?
He died right before the election. It was too late to add anyone else so people voted republican because if the dead guy won his spot would be filled by a...republican.  Hence the reason why they voted for a dead guy. Nothing too crazy here imo.

That's surprising. I would have assumed if the dead guy won, it just be an open seat and they'd have a special election afterwards to fill it.

Yes, it’s kind of odd to admit that the candidates are nothing more than replaceable pieces on a board, with no intrinsic worth to their voters.

looks like his opponent is an educator, who is for education reform, gun reform, and water safety.  She is an assistant principal with 2 masters degrees.  She is pro 2nd amendment but doesnt think educators should need the responsibility of guns in the classroom.

Too bad 700 voting machines sat in a warehouse in Fulton County, Georgia while voters waited hours to vote. Disgraceful. Yea, ‘Murica is the greatest at disenfranchisement.
This seems a little different than what you are suggesting:

According to the AP, Barron also said that the problems were partially the result of a federal judge’s prior ruling to sequester 700 of the county’s voting machines. The county only has 40 spare machines.
Who requested the machines be sequestered and for what purpose? And were the remaining machines evenly distributed and if so, on time, ready to go upon poll opening? Some people waited 5 hours in line to vote. Reprehensible.

The machines were sequestered by local officials because of an ongoing federal lawsuit that argues Georgia’s electronic voting machines could be hacked or tampered with.

With fewer machines in precincts, voters faced heavy delays, often more than an hour, before they got to the front of the line. The issue affected voters in Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton counties, the three jurisdictions covered by the court case.

Election officials said Wednesday that the lack of voting machines — combined with high turnout and wordy constitutional amendments — created some of the longest lines in years. They said that by the time they realized turnout would significantly exceed the last midterm election, there wasn’t time to find additional machines.

Thanks for this but I’d still like to know, of the machines distributed, were they distributed fairly or evenly? Someone has since posted that some machines arrived without power cords. Which precincts were they? And why and who was responsible? Gee, only had two years to prepare for your duties.

The salamander one was dumb but I can honestly see where the rumors started with the other three.

The Ellison accusations put Democrats in an uncomfortable position, as they took a strict stance concerning the sexual misconduct allegations against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Democrats have held the office for more than four decades, and Democrats had expressed concern that the allegations against Ellison could damage their chances in the race.

aaaand the guy in charge of regulating the election just happened to be on the ballot and is leading by the slimmest of margins.

any time you criticize the israeli government, someone comes out of the woodwork accusing you of being anti semitic.
It’s seems like that’s a new republican - trump supporter thing to do. Does trump even know why he supports Israel? They move the embassy and all of a sudden the red hatters act like they’re experts on Israeli - Palestinian relations in a 24 hour period.

I was just gonna post that.

Also a Dem just won Newt Gingrich's old seat.

And it looks like 3 Florida races are going to recounts - Senate, Agriculture Secretary and with tightening of the polls, Governor will probably hit the 5/10 difference to initiate a recount.

Dems are poised to pick up 35 - 40 seats in the House.

Looks her lead is expanding.  When I noticed it at 7PM it was 2k votes.  Now it's 9k.  The absentees are being counted and she's doing very well.
And you're right, the FL senate has tightened.  I think at this level, it's auto-recount.

But hey, Trump had a great night and I just learned on the other thread that the Democrats are neo-elitist something or other that no one likes.

neo-liberalism and coastal elites - but no name calling!!! :

The Senate was 5/10 Tuesday night or early morning (I hardly slept) but Gillum had conceded in the Governor's race and it was at 6/10. The numbers have tightened cause it was stuck at 99% till today and it looks like the concession may have been early and it's heading to 5/10 and auto recount. I so want DeSantis to NOT be Governor. He is such a suck up.

Sinema takes the lead in Arizona!  Still 20% to count.

Oh wahwahwah. You all have become such a circle jerk of judging and whining about being judged.
For someone who complains on here all the time about the sad state of the AMT...Thank you for this constructive comment.
