No offense, but I guess that maybe shows us how out of the touch the band could be with their exact tour plans. I guess you're picking the 19th for the show in Newcastle? One of the guys here already talked to Ed in Canada and he was pretty adamant they were coming to NZ too, but look where we are now... Still, gotta keep positive. You never know what might happen. Can anyone say 10C only acoustic show?

Haha I can say 10C only acoustic show, but I cant see it. Ill be at St James on Friday for Arctic Monkeys, ill suggest to them they need to get Pearl Jam next.

  • If anyone is going to Aussie shows I want signs there displaying our extreme dissapointmemt. "How bout you play New Zealand Ed" would be effective.

What about "Play New Zealand you pussies"...that seemed to work pretty well for Leash. Im only kidding though, the main thing is to keep on an even keel and never seem in any petitions/emails etc like we're bitter angry demanding NZ fans.

Calm down guys. I know you feel cheated but there hasn't been any 'official' word on it yet.
So what if they cancelled their accomodation. It might just mean that they're gonna play somewhere else in NZ, or there could've been trouble with the accomodation eg. Nowhere for Olivia to sleep etc
Save the rage for 'official' news cos I know the band wouldn't want to screw you guys over
  • PJ never offically stated they were coming here in the first place was only a rumour that turned out to be true.

No offense but you guys in aussie have no ida what its like to constantly have bands pass you over, half of the time im sure they just think we are apart of aussie or go "hey fuck me, theres a country down there! Dude!"

I think putting our name on the tour program before Aussie is pretty close to official, official enough to get our hopes up.
I personally am not upset because I think they arent coming, im upset because Ten Club could cut through the shit and give us an answer or something either way. They are crap, and I wont listen to anyone who says otherwise.

I agree with you there ^. I am annoyed at being left hanging without any information. Also the whole Vector is the only venue scenario.

I can understand Coldplay pulled out because Vector was the only possible venue with an intact roof, and they were going to play in the winter.

I eventually got a reply to my petition from the 10C to say they werent coming to NZ in 2003 - I replied asking why and got nothing back....

    Sorry
    everyone but
I've just booked me a ticket to see P.J. in Brisbane on the 10th of November,
and before you all turn green,
let me tell you that I am only going because
I heard a voice last night telling me to go on a mission from God
on behalf of all N.Zealand fans!!

    As suggested previously,
I will be carrying a banner saying "PLAY N.Z. YOU PUSSIES" !
I'll do this for you I promise.

Has anyone heard anything from the Red Hot Chili Peppers ?
Do they tour here or do they carry on like those other "pussies" ?

I head RHCP were playing BDO (Again). Co-headlining with Tool.

Good stuff on the sign. I think it will get the message through loud and clear.

They better play their own concert, I wouldnt go near BDO with a 50 foot barge pole.

Sure, if you want their only reaction to be a groan and a roll of the eyes… 'you pussies' has been done SO many times already...
  • Ok people here's the latest from the petition site. Input on question 2 would be great. I'm thinking radio plugs, music store ads and email fowards with a link.
Thank you for your petition - this e-mail is to validate your e-mail address and - just a few questions before we put it live:-

    1. What information do you want in the 'contact' section of the petition? At a minimum we need your name and e-mail address.

    2. How are you going to promote your petition - this will be critical to its success.

    3. Can you please confirm you have read and agree with our terms of use at - http://www.petitionthem.com/?sect=terms

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Regards,

Yeah thatd work as a banner, not necessarily with your mug on it but as long as you had a big Kiwi smile on it then that might work too?
Anyone else on a bit of a Pearl Jam hiatus like me at the mo? Im not being an angry so and so and boycotting their music, this just seemed like a good time to discover some other stuff and get back to their stuff later on. Its been very rewarding so far

Anyone into, or heard of the Dresden Dolls? I've had playlist of rock music and some metal alternating according to my mood. I don't have much Pearl Jam on my computer at the moment. But yes, none of this abandoning BS.

Im gonna go into Real Groovy tomorrow and go nuts and get into some new stuff, then set up shop at home with the right utensils.

I'll ad the picture of a sliced kiwi fruit
they might decide to use that as the next cover !

    someone has gotta photoshop that!!!

you could take a new album poster and paste a kiwi fruit over the avo, and add some message about NZ under the "Pearl Jam". I can't picture this :)

    Sounds good.
Getting in touch with Neil Finn would still be a good idea because he's got a direct line to Eddie, and can relay all your efforts directly to him
