By the way, any Kiwi's ever get a copy of the Benaroya Vinyl? I still have bad memories about seeing it sitting there on the site for $35 while I wondered if I would listen to it on vinyl or if I should just get the CD - doh! Its my Holy Grail now.

yeah i got it. i'll let you know if i'm ever destitute enough to have to sell it.

where the fuck has my ames book got to, tho?! the shipping on the 'flash' one was stupidly expensive - and that makes it slower? weird.

I got it. As I recall the time difference worked in our favour for once on that one. I remember worrying for months that it was going to come damaged. I wonder what a copy would go for on trademe? Probably not that high compared to the prices on ebay (USD$400-500?).

I wish ITW and the poster book would come! I think they shipped the LE books some time after the regulars.

Yeah don't think it would go for as much as ebay. Some guy was selling most of the standard PJ vinyl on TM a while back and Binaural & LOTL didn't even reach $100. You could always try your Benaroya!

i won't be there this time round, two evenings with billy's ego (and shite singing) was one too many for me, fingers crossed for y'all that they don't have an off night.

  • eeee.... I'm wondering about SP tickets... 120 bucks is a lot of money when you have none to begin with. And I'm not a huge fan, but still, it's the pumpkins an' all....

    Heya RedPJ :)

jeeze, that makes the kings of leon ticket price look reasonable.

save your $120 for something that's actually awesome.
(apologies pumpkins fans! i was one too, once...and then i saw them play live)

When did you see them? 96? Or more recently?

Not a fan of QOTSA either? The show is going to be super sweet, and $120 is a bargain. I think a lot of people sitting on the fence will be sorry if they don't go.

i've never regretted not seeing a show, coz if you're not there you don't know what you missed, do you? but i have regretted going to shows that turned out to be sucky...but you don't know til you're there. luckily it doesn't happen too often.

i guess it was 96 when i saw the pumpkins last. james was great. the irony is that i didn't even have to pay to see them and they still weren't worth what i paid:)

i think qotsa will wipe the floor with the pumpkins.

but, hey i could be sooooo wrong on both counts.

    that's rock n roll. :)

And I guess you'll never know. Don't worry, I won't come here saying how great the show was or anything.

Personally, I'd rather go to a crappy show than miss a good one. I don't think I've ever been to a gig that was so bad I wish I hadn't gone. Did we go to the same show? Maybe your expectations are too high?

i try to never have expectations....but i guess with that 96 show, i loved the pumpkins for years and they just didn't do it for me that night. i blame billy. maybe he's gotten over himself now. hope so.

i would be really happy for you if you came here and said it was a great show! i hope it is!

Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it :D He's a funny one. I think people take him a bit too seriously sometimes...

If only that were true, knitted... if only that were true... (need I remind you of a certain fanview of a certain PJ show..?) ;)

No, it won't be quite the same but that's no reason not to go.

Anyone get their special edition poster book yet? I got my ITW vinyl, but the book still hasn't come!

i'm pretty excited that liam finn is playing support. maybe ed will return the favour on liam's next nz tour. hey, stranger things have happened! ( yes yes, dream on)

(and on that other thing, well, of COURSE i don't count pearl jam shows among shows i will never regret missing, coz with pearl jam i know for sure i'd miss something incredible... but i'd never miss them if they played here, knock on wood, so it's not a regret i ever expect to have to live with:) )

10 years - yesterday & tomorrow - since pj played nz.

how does that make us all feel?

    happy? sad? old? ignored?

    or all of the above.

Mostly sad, that they've been so close on two occasions but didn't come here. I know we won't miss out again next time but still...

I was going to have a party and play the bootleg etc but I don't think it exists. Does anyone have a recording on the 98 shows? I think I have (had?) a copy of the 95 show(s) but the quality is terrible and some parts are missing.
