you can't get in the door with 10 club tickets? Am I reading that right? I may be the only one out there, but I don't have a smart phone. Also, no physical ticket is just lame!! I collect those!

Man, I have to believe there is going to be some plan for these cases. If I didn't have a smart phone, I might be a little nervous too. But I bet they'll do whatever they can to minimize the number of folks requesting hard tickets "just because". It's a smart move, but I can't say I'm in favor of it. Might've been good to roll out an e-ticket option before going fully digital. Hope it all goes well, I will enjoy not having one more thing in my pocket to lose. For those souvenir hounds, not all shows have had pretty tickets, so take a screenshot of your e-ticket and get some nice cardstock and have it printed anyway
Good luck to all, smartphone holders and tech dissidents alike! It's amazing what you hear when you take time to listen.0 -
i'm hoping they have hard tickets to grab as you leave the show (i think i did this with TOTD, not sure). just because i like having the actual ticket to a show i've been to. either way, psyched for my first euro and seattle shows!First Show: Springfield, MA 4/6/940

This is inconvenient. But 10 years after the iPhone was released, this must be a minuscule problem.
Borrow someones smartphone on that day? Or buy a cheap one? Or take the leap and start using one instead of an old phone?"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
I dont like that I cannot put the ticket in the collection. Guess I can print a screen shot of it.

I don't have a smartphone but sporadic, spaced out, nowhere near me stadium shows suck anyway, so I don't care. However, if this is the policy going forward...

This may be one of many signs that people are just going to have to get smartphones if they want to participate in things and get shit done easily. I seriously doubt this will be the last time non-smartphone users are going to be confronted with this issue moving forward. A lot of companies seem to finally be moving forward with services that require smartphones. I notice that the first cashier-free grocery stores are opening now, where you just scan your smartphone on your way into the store, and then simply take everything you need and walk out, with the charges going straight out of your account - it's all monitored electronically. I suspect all major grocery stores will eventually go this route, and the change will probably be somewhat faster than most expect. I also think that most or all major music venues will require smartphone scanning long before we've all lost interest in attending shows.

Will you have to somehow be "online" for it to work?
If Im going from Sweden I'm having my phone on "flightmode" unless I'm on the Hotel/McD Wi-fi..."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
Here's the response I received.
No problem. If you end up getting tickets through the pre-sale just shoot us an email explaining you don't have a smart phone and we'll get you sorted.
