    This tax plan was always about the corporate rate 1st and foremost.  And that's not really a bad thing at all.  I'm just pissed it was rushed as I was hoping for actual tax reform....making everything easier...and a tax plan that didn't add so much to the deficit.  

    I'm a big fan of keeping the $ I make and believe there are too many people paying for too many others that aren't.  But I'm confused about how you can pass a tax plan that adds so much $ to the debt...makes no sense to me.  Not in this economy.

    We will be getting a decent tax break in this deal.  
    Yippee.  Not. 

    We will get pennies today while they rob us of dollars tomorrow when they raid our SS and Medicare.
    The money people save in tax cuts will never add up to what they will be losing, and that's not even considering the economic crash that will surely follow.

    Is it a problem for you that a lot of people are paying more in taxes than you are?
    A higher %....yeah it does actually.  But there are far more paying less than are paying more.  But not really sure where this question is coming from.

    I will likely save a few thousand $$ with this new tax plan.  I'm still looking to see what the details are on this 20% reduction in pass through income piece which could save me a few thousand more.

    That being said...this legislation is stupid as hell.  I do believe that people with incomes up to $450K-$500K need a reduction.  This legislation seems to reach that.  The problem is that they give the wealthy a tremendous amount of tax savings that they don't need.  

    It's ironic that the GOP (party of fiscal responsibility? anti-deficit balanced budget party?) has just passed a bill that will explode the deficit.  I don't believe there are any credible economists that disagree with this....it's ridiculous.

    What is crazy is that they keep yapping about how the standard deduction doubled...basically from $12K to $24K for married joint....yet they don't mention that personal exemptions are gone.  For a family of four that is a deduction of $ 16K...so you gain a $12K deduction and lose a $16K deduction.
