I gotta say, i was a bit disappointed with the doc. I wasn't expecting so much live footage. I thought it was going to be more in depth of a documentary, not just some sound bites with mostly live video. But it was still good. I was also amazed how few people were in the theatre. We went on Friday, which I think was opening night.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

Ahh, so it's more a concert video than a documentary (which I suspect the upcoming PJ one will be like)?. I'm not surprised theatre's aren't filled out. I don't think live concert video's really draw that many people out.. especially when you can watch it at home for free in the very near term (which is why I didn't go). Let's Play Two will be the first time i've gone to a theatre to see a music film, and it only has a single screening..... I think the hip has multiple screenings?
I am looking forward to it. I was at the first show of the tour and the energy in the arena was insane. No one knew was to expect. The crowd was insanely energetic and emotional. I'm hoping there's some footage of the show in the doc.

i'd say it's about 2/3 live and 1/3 interviews.Zod said:Ahh, so it's more a concert video than a documentary (which I suspect the upcoming PJ one will be like)?. what was the first show? Victoria? if so, yes, there is footage of that show. Looks like a really nice small room. The only place that really got the shaft in the doc was Winnipeg. They showed multiple songs from Toronto, Vancouver, and footage of the nation-wide screenings of the kingston show.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
gord didn't attend the TIFF opening. My dad said he heard he was too sick. brain tumour related, or flu?Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

I'm assuming it's related to the tumour - he doesn't look so good these days obviously - but I doubt this is actually info we have access to.HughFreakingDillon said:gord didn't attend the TIFF opening. My dad said he heard he was too sick. brain tumour related, or flu?

Yah Victoria was the first show. Our Arena is pretty small. I think it only holds something like 6000 or 7000 people. It's a minor hockey arena. It's why Pearl Jam never plays here (it's too small) The Hip show was the first time I'd seen a band utilize the enter bowl. Kind of like what Pearl Jam does in the bigger markets where they sell the tickets behind the stage too. It was pretty awesome.HughFreakingDillon said:

This year I saw Elton John and he also sold the entire bowl, so I think the hip started something here. Maybe we can a few more bands to play here by selling those extra tickets

Yea that show was amazing. They've actually used the whole arena multiple times in the past for big shows.Zod said:

went to preorder the cd. $12.99 for the disc. double that with shipping. no regular mail option, only fedex. brutal.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

Same amount for shipping an LP ($12.46), but there are 3 options, and none of them are FedEx. They're all Canada Post. That IS brutal, that they are charging the same amount for a CD as they are an LP. That is a reasonable price for a record, but somewhat outrageous for a CD, and I don't understand why they'd use FedEx for CDs only, since it's more expensive ..... Hey, at least it's still a lot cheaper than ordering anything from the 10C.HughFreakingDillon said:went to preorder the cd. $12.99 for the disc. double that with shipping. no regular mail option, only fedex. brutal.

I loved Long Time Running. I found it dustier in that theatre than at any of the five shows I saw in 2016, including Kingston. I choked up during "Blow at High Dough," of all things, and it was downhill from there.Minneapolis 1998 | Jones Beach I & II, Montreal, and Toronto 2000 | Buffalo, State College, Toronto, Montreal and Hershey 2003 | Boston I & II 2004 | Thunder Bay, Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto 2005 | Toronto I & II 2006 | The Vic and Lollapalooza 2007 | Calgary and Toronto 2009 | PJ20 I & II, Toronto I & II, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton 2011 | London, Chicago, Spokane, Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle 2013 | Ottawa and Toronto I & II 2016 | Chicago I & II 2018 | Ottawa, Hamilton and Toronto 2022 | Philadelphia I & II 20240

STATEMENT
October 18, 2017
Last night Gord quietly passed away with his beloved children and family close by.
Gord knew this day was coming – his response was to spend this precious time as he always had – making music, making memories and expressing deep gratitude to his family and friends for a life well lived, often sealing it with a kiss… on the lips.
Gord said he had lived many lives. As a musician, he lived “the life” for over 30 years, lucky to do most of it with his high school buddies. At home, he worked just as tirelessly at being a good father, son, brother, husband and friend. No one worked harder on every part of their life than Gord. No one.
We would like to thank all the kind folks at KGH and Sunnybrook, Gord’s bandmates, management team, friends and fans. Thank you for all the help and support over the past two years.
Thank you everyone for all the respect, admiration and love you have given Gord throughout the years – those tender offerings touched his heart and he takes them with him now as he walks among the stars.
Love you forever Gord.
