Many people lost everything, and had no flood insurance. I think for Katrina the help from the Feds was up to about $33,000. That doesn't rebuild a house, furnish it, replace automobiles, etc... Their jobs may be gone because their employers may be under water. Many, many people will be spending the next several years dealing with hardship and trying to recover from this. The last thing they need is some asshole thinking those people will be back to normal next week. He gets to hop on his plane and quickly get back to his normal life of jet setting and golfing. Those people in Texas are still trying to pick mud out of their asses, locate family members, figure out where they'll be staying, figure out how they'll get their next meals, etc...
