In response to the environmental problems with the wall, I totally agree and that is a definite negative effect.   Every change has an effect. The beauty of wildlife is that it adapts.  Some bad shit is sure to happen, but the benefits massively outweigh the bad.  So much bad shit comes through that border and hits us here in Texas it’s just horrible.  Like fucking 30 foot trucks full of cooked bodies that were never let out because the traffickers who charged them 10k to come over left them and ran.  Tons of shit in the news here all the time it makes you sick to your stomach.  I’m from
NY and have only lived here 10 years but I’ve heard enough horrible shit about the border for a while.  There’s like 30 something countries with border walls, so the idea shouldn’t be a shock or something new to folks, yet everyone is like “what?! A wall?!” Lol, google it and see for yourselves.

Look, I don't want to sit here and berate you RoleModel and I'm guessing you really do care about an appreciate nature but please, take some time to study the basic concepts of ecological sciences.   Like all science, it's a complex subject but the basic concepts are fairly easy to grasp.  Your argument goes against many well understood basics of ecology.
The wall is up and has been up and is still going up.

My friend has been building the wall on and off for the last 7 years.

He's been building it during the Obama years too.

The wall is a joke and we all know it.
    I know... :anguished:

  • Man I gotta say this move was just fucking stupid.  Yeah, I support trump, but I also support decency and using ones brain.  I am all for shooting from the hip and straight talk and telling it like it is but this was just a dumbass comment.  The dude always takes a step forward and then two back.  Know your audience trump, you’re trying to make a deal and you bust out with shithole country comments.  Jesus what a dumbass.
Why do you support Team Trump Treason, with all that we know about him, his behavior, his comments, etc?
I like his plans.  Not how he’s going about them obviously, but I support the wall and feel folks who want to be here should attempt to become citizens and assimilate.

I also like the drop in corporate tax rate seeing as I have a corporation.

I love how he’s an outsider and claimed he wanted to drain the swamp.  I don’t think he’s done it, believe me, and the staff he’s brought in has hurt him more than helped him, but DC is full of trash who are lifers in positions that were never meant to be.  i like the fact that they’re all squirming in their seats because he’s there.  They should never be complacent, and I think he’s got the right idea with shaking them up.

like I said before I was liberal and voted dem for a long time but it was always smoke in mirrors with them, a lot of empty promises with nothing to show for it.  I was really turned off by how the party and it’s followers (my brother is a huge dem, rabid on fb) were constantly name calling and harassing people who thought differently than they did.  Calling folks racist who were clearly not, throwing out super ugly claims at folks who just believed something differently than them.  I fully believe that if you don’t agree with someone you learn to appreciate their views, rather than forcing yours on them.  I’m not religious because I think it’s stupid and the forcing ones religion on another is as dumb as it comes, so
why are dems who are anti religion trying to do exactly that and force their opinions on someone else just like those they hate? Just sent me packing basically, I was ashamed pretty much by how all my dem friends were acting online.
Thanks for the honest response. I’ll comment more specifically tomorrow as I’m interested in some of your replies.

I suppose Trump and Coulter would say this guy was from a "shit hole" country and should have had a 1-way travel back to the country of his choice?

After Saving Many From Fire, Soldier Died Trying to Rescue One More

Emmanuel Mensah was a handsome, strongly built young man in his late 20s who immigrated to the Bronx from Ghana five years ago. He joined the Army National Guard but returned to his apartment on Prospect Avenue in December, after graduating from boot camp with the rank of private first class.

And on Thursday night, he lost his life trying to save people from his furiously burning apartment building, one of 12 people to die in the blaze.

As someone that used to have him a Senator, knowing his history, I can't believe a word out of his mouth.

If this whole thing is based on what Dick Durban says I would say there is a likely chance we aren't being told the truth.

I have seen reports that others have said that he didn't say it.

But hey everyone, let's be distracted.

In other news the House had a display of bipartisanship when they blocked the Amash amendment and chose to continue warrantless wiretapping of Americans.

That’s what’s great about this country you can believe what you choose to believe, so with that being said I don’t believe a word you spew out of your mouth I’ll go with Durbin for the truth it was also corroborated by LGraham ...

Unsung, I couldn’t agree more. Trump uses words as distractions because he’s not constitutionally bound to being polite, and because it creates conversations about his “fitness” for President rather than the egregious actions he and people around him are trying to pull off. That said, we’re all just on a message board anyways - not like I can do anything proactive when he continues wiretapping either.

This guys influence?  STILL KICKING.  The damage has already been done.

A YEAR IN you still have to Fight the NORMALIZATION of the bad ideas and completely fucked up "policies" that were already implemented by Steve Bannon AND Steve Miller.  Last night's Vice News Tonight (01122017) had a pretty amazing segment on it, as soon as it's available I will post it.

They really took a wrecking ball to the the ideals and accepted norms that this country stands for, and we're to distracted and caught up in the day to day bullshit to even try to counteract it.

Not really... Durbin and the source reported that Graham took a stand in the meeting and berated Trump.  According to CNBC..
    • Lindsey Graham does not deny that President Donald Trump called certain nations "s---hole" countries during a meeting with senators on Thursday.
    • "I said my piece directly to him yesterday" after his comments, the Republican senator from South Carolina says.
    • Graham does not rebut an account from Sen. Dick Durbin, who said Trump "repeatedly" used the term "s---hole."
    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/12/sen-lindsey-graham-i-said-my-piece-to-trump-during-immigration-meeting.html

If Trump didn't say it, wouldn't Graham deny that it was said?

dignin, my bad. To clarify, I don't think he's intentionally creating distractions, but that's certainly the effect. It really seems that the amount of time spent discussing Trump's words is greatly disproportionate to the amount of time spent discussing his actions.

I have no idea if they are or are not.  But I do know they are full of humans, God's creatures.  And there is zero upside to the comment and only downside as a human, President, and an alleged Christian.  I like Presidents who think about the words they say before they say them and are conscientious of their impact.  I like Presidents who have a spec of humanity for all humans.  As a financial services executive, I have to think about everything I write and everything I say due to the ramifications.  It's not that high of a standard to hold someone to and one I hold myself to every single day.
