I'm thinking perhaps you are not quite aware of how hard the military works to brainwash its soldiers though. The powers that be WANT their soldiers to have that bravado and for them to follow their leaders blindly ... and they are largely successful. Not always, but very often. They also poach young and impressionable people who are fresh out of high school, and then 'mold their minds'. Compare and contrast Cheetolini's note with Obama's note and the difference is striking. Obama's note exudes intelligence, honor, and respect. For the record, I'm one of those perfectionists so I'd never be able to allow the mix of lower and upper case letters so that bothers me about his writing. To me it further shows the lack of commitment and focus to what is being written. My whiteboard in my office is written in all caps for all my script writing. It's about consistent form, doesn't matter what I'm writing. Surprised to hear so many say they'd probably have written it the same way.
