I still can't believe that inside job won. Terrible song live.  Oh well.
    Unthought known for the win!
    Not so fast my friend!

    "gems and RHINESTONES!!!"

Most cringeworthy lyric in the catalog.
Absolutely agree that it s a terrible lyric but overall it s a killer song live.  No way it s the weakest link on the album as per your vote.
I'll give you that. For me, it's very formulaic of Ed lately. Palm muted intro, big attempt at an anthemic chorus, and some iffy lyrics. Lightning Bolt (the song) is very similar. I believe they even share a chord pattern in the verses. This pattern started with Love Boat Captain and it just feels predictable.
    It's really not similar from a guitar standpoint. Not the same key. Not the same chords or progression. Really not structured the same either. There really isn't a true chorus in Unthiught Known. No guitar solo. Really, only the build is comparable. and the fact that they're both great songs. ;

I'm going from my deteriorating memory on this, but are you sure about the chords? I could have sworn they both start off in a variation of F.
The main point of structure is the quick palm mute intro that eventually builds to an anthemic chorus. My problem isn't the structure, because I love a great building song...it's just a little predictable anymore. Even songs like Porch live follow this (to an extent) It's not that it's bad, it's just been done. I guess it's like Inside Job in my mind. The promise is there but something isn't clicking with me.

Let the record show though that I would give up my nuts to write a song 1/10th as good as anything on this album.

You'd give up your nuts to write a song 1/10th as good as Johnny Guitar?

Ha! Yeah man. I have quite low standards and self esteem about my songwriting, it appears!

    That seriously had me laughing.

Oh man, between this album and LB, this contest is now like shooting fish in a barrell. You can hardly go wrong
And so you see, I have come to doubt

    The only choice.

The rest of this album does very little for me. I can't even decide which song to vote against first. So many options!

Ed, let's pick some better Stone tunes for the albums.  I know they are there.

    The Fixer
So, there are really people out there who think The Fixer is superior to Unthought Known and Got Some?

    You people baffle me.

Well, I had to vote for something other than Johnny Guitar since that one's a goner!
