    The only choice.

The rest of this album does very little for me. I can't even decide which song to vote against first. So many options!

Ed, let's pick some better Stone tunes for the albums.  I know they are there.

So, there are really people out there who think The Fixer is superior to Unthought Known and Got Some?

Well, I had to vote for something other than Johnny Guitar since that one's a goner!

I've never liked FON, it just doesn't feel like a PJ song to me

Neither did I but then I thought I should listen to it before I voted for it (I bet haven't listened to studio Backspacer in at least five years) and it isn't all that bad.

Johnny Guitar isn't that bad. He's an adult that rides a tricycle, chicks all over him and he used to be a manager in the WWF in the late 80's, only there they referred to him as 'Slick.'

Well Speed of Sound has crossed the magic vote threshold for elimination so it is surely gone based on the few voted for any other song besides JG.

This is a good album. Can't believe it's almost been 10 years and that this was only 3 years after self titled. That seemed like forever to wait at the time.

    "gems and RHINESTONES!!!"

Most cringeworthy lyric in the catalog.
I disagree.  Ed has a serious love affair with the Moon and stars, and as someone who shares that love affair, it isn't cringe worthy or corny, it's genuine and beautiful.
I can see how city folk would feel that way, but get out under a true night sky and listen to that song and you will appreciate that it isn't just something he said, it's something he felt and that you can feel too.

No city folk (probably one of the most rural members on here actually) here and I love the connection Ed has to the stars and nature, It connects to me on every level. But I think that lyric is bad.

Backspacer remains my least favorite Pearl Jam release. Two Ed solo songs in Just Breathe and The End, plus Speed of Sound which was better as an Ed solo song than what we got on the record. Johnny Guitar is terrible. The Fixer is forgettable. Unthought Known is one of their most overrated songs, probably because there is so little else to love on this album. Force of Nature, Supersonic, Gonna See My Friends...none of these are songs I hope to see pop up in a setlist.

On the plus side, Amongst The Waves is good and Got Some has grown on me over time. Also, the Backspacer tour shows I saw (Hartford and Boston, 2010) were both gems.

I've always thought of Unthought Known as Wishlist pt. 2...  People should be chanting "Let Stone Write.." instead of "Let Stone Sing" at shows.. lol.. Backspacer is good for what it is, but I definitely prefer the songs live vs. the album.
