Pretty accurate - we know that Morgan Freeman would for sure be Frederick Douglas in any movie made about him.
He should have used Fred Sanford.
If that was sanford i would have sharted myself.

Why would the person in charge stage a coup?

At this point, I'm not sure who is in charge. Before I speculate on coups I need to be certain who is calling the shots.

He has put an extremist operative at the front of his team. Someone who has advocated for the destruction of the 'state'.

They are laying the groundwork for voting regulations. Probably will implement discriminatory voting measures to make things difficult for any opposing challengers. They are laying the groundwork for more wars, while making allies more concerned. In the process of obliterating the EPA, silencing science fact, making war on facts themselves. De-regulation, which will benefit the elite, and poison the rest of us... and probably lead us into another deep recession/depression. They are acting on the most extreme Id of the Right Wing platform... and the bobblehead Republicans in Congress (who publicly back the stuff, probably with the understanding that it would never actually happen) so-far are coming along for the ride. A lot are probably afraid to oppose, thanks to the deluge of backlash that would come down, led by Trump, Bannon, and Conway... Checks and balances is tossed out the window.
Not even to mention that thing they nominated to head Dept. of Education or the puzzling selection of SoS.

He's not fully in charge yet. He (and his cronies) only controls one branch of government.

He is indeed a bigot asshole. That doesn't mean that every single thing he does will be a bigoted asshole thing to do (if he didn't continue that, it would have caused absolute chaos and a constitutional crisis - someone probably advised him not to do it.... for now. The only reason this is news is because they were considering not continuing it!). Just wondering why you put it like that? Do you actually think that everyone who knows he's a bigoted asshole is wrong?? Surely not.

I thought trump would be a disaster. I had no concept of just how bad he was going to be. it's insane.

Agreed. It is scarier than I thought. It's embarrassing actually.

Yes Fred is really trending with the kids.. Trump is hearing all about it. Very popular.
The kids must love Freddie's throwback style. The hair, the high collar. It'll be intersting to see what he does next.

I'm only interested in the entertainment value, I can't tell you how many times I laugh out loud after reading his tweets. Last night I was flipping thru the various networks cracking up, you would have thought I was watching Steven Wright's greatest hits.
Don't panic thou, the US dollar is still world currency, we still control NATO and the UN, we still have global intelligence and military presence, the Fed is still printing dollars faster than trumps tweeting and the sky hasn't fallen.
Yeah, this is really fucking entertaining. Unfuckingreal that there are people like you who think this way. Simply unreal.

    https://www.defense.gov/News/Article/Article/1064682/us-raid-in-yemen-garners-intelligence
Pentagon spokesman Navy Capt. Jeff Davis told reporters today.
The operation had been planned for months, and was one in a series of aggressive actions against al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula in Yemen, he said.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/feb/02/trump-approved-yemen-raid-five-days-after-inauguration
Both the New York Times and Reuters carried quotes from unnamed military officials that seemed to shift blame for the mission to Trump and his inner team. It would be an extraordinary development for a president, who is commander-in-chief, to be briefed against in such detail.

The briefings suggested that one thing after another went wrong from the start of the mission, with the Yemen villagers seemingly alerted to the impending raid by drones flying lower than usual.

The special forces, apparently lacking full intelligence, were confronted by heavily-fortified positions, including landmines, and faced heavy gunfire from buildings all around during the 50-minute firefight. One of the US planes sent in to help had to be left behind and was deliberately destroyed.

The POTUS no matter who it is, or what letter is near their name does not plan operations. This operation was planned prior as you stated. You can have the perfect plan but once the skids are up shit can happen. From weather, to equipment malfunctions, to bad Intel. He owns it for approving the op, but the personnel who planned and briefed the operation has skin in it as well.
