President Donald Trump is planning to sign an executive order aimed at strengthening cybersecurity.
House Speaker Paul Ryan has given a strong defense of President Donald Trump's refugee and immigration ban.
That's the word from Republicans who attended a closed-door meeting Tuesday morning. Lawmakers said Ryan told them he backs the order, which has created chaos and confusion worldwide.
President Donald Trump says he wants to lower drug prices and bring pharmaceutical companies back to the United States.
Trump is meeting with drug company executives at the White House Tuesday. He says "we're going to be changing a lot of the rules" and promises to end "global freeloading."
He is also vowing to reduce the prices of Medicare and Medicaid.
The White House says President Donald Trump will leave intact a 2014 executive order that protects federal workers from anti-LGBTQ discrimination.
In a statement released early Tuesday, the White House says Trump "is determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community" and that he "continues to be respectful and supportive of LGBTQ rights, just as he was throughout the election."
The Trump administration has named a new acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Thomas Homan, who was in charge of the agency's enforcement and removal operations, has been named acting director. The agency's Twitter account says that Daniel Ragsdale, who had been temporarily in charge, is returning to his previous position as deputy director of ICE. Both men are longtime career employees.0 -
I'm looking forward to the leaks about the meeting with drug company execs.0

weird, just a day or two ago it was reported that Trump was drafting a "religious freedom" EO that would ALLOW LBGTQ folks to be discriminated against.JC29856 said:President Donald Trump is planning to sign an executive order aimed at strengthening cybersecurity.

Okay, regardless oh how much you hate Trump, this is just funny. wow, that is absurd. of course, only the ones that can afford it will push for this. are they going to subsidize all the gaffers, lighting techs, camera guys, grips, etc, who stand to lose their houses from this nonsense?PJPOWER said:Okay, regardless oh how much you hate Trump, this is just funny. I also think conservatives are overly fixated on Hollywood. Yes they make the news a lot, but speaking as progressive, for progressives here. I can tell you that I could care less what any Hollywood star does or says. It doesn't make a difference to me and I would bet it doesn't make a difference to almost every progressive. They are somewhat inflated in their 'influence' but conservatives fall into that trap and react to it like anyone really gives a shit.HughFreakingDillon said:

I think some think that way, but I think that celebrities on twitter or at award shows are only voicing their opinions, and since they have all those ears, they might feel an obligation to say something they believe in. I don't fault them for that. but saying that hollywood is the foundation of america is absolutely ridiculous.mrussel1 said:

I agree. I don't fault anyone for using their celebrity or whatever to speak their mind. But conservatives fall into the trap of thinking we care what they say.HughFreakingDillon said:

Regarding the conservatives fixation on Hollywood, whatever that means, just take a look at the medias reaction to Nicole Kidman when she simply stated after the election 'calm down trumps our president let's support him'. She didn't endorse trump, she made one statement and it was on every celebrity news site and TV show. She was forced to make additional comments and explain herself.

Take a look at the media reaction to other celebrities that actually supported Trump...Baio, Voight, Busey, TBrady.
Conversely, look at the media reporting and over-reaction to celebrities that are friendly with Obama, look at Hilliarys star studded fundraisers and campaign talent shows.
Conservative fixation? Was Hilliary trying to court fixated on Hollywood conservatives?Post edited by JC29856 on0 -
You may be on to something here. So you're telling me media is a business and gives the consumer the product it wants? This is mindblowing, I have to rethink everything.JC29856 said:

You're missing my point. I'm not arguing that they don't have a platform, they shouldn't use the platform OR that the media perpetuates it. It's all true. I'm saying that I don't think that who Clint Eastwood or Matt Damon supports really changes anyone's mind.JC29856 said:
