I have just had a few problems with orders. I really like Newbury.mcgruff10 said:0 -
I bought DMB Live trax 4 which is a $100 box set. It came with an offset label (there was a pic somehwere above.. very bad). I emailed them and within 5 min they replied saying "we're sending you a new one, you can keep the old one. Sorry about that". I had the new one in two days. I sent the old one to Monkeewrench. It only affected about 5 seconds of playing on one side out of 8 sides. All else being equal, I'll always use Newbury.mcgruff10 said:
Plus their colored vinyl is top notch. My experience is they use the best press in production for theirs. I'm super picky about my records and never buy one if it isn't a material increase over the cd. They have not disappointed me yet.0 -
I've also had great experiences with Newbury. I'm very picky as well.0

Picked this one up this week. If you're a fan of Bill, this is an exceptional pressing.0

Anybody know a cheap place to pick up:
Achtung baby
How to dismantle an atomic bombI'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -
No but Joshua Tree 2007 remaster is back in Stock. I have been looking for a year and suddenly is available. I bought from import_cd today. I have the original press but word is this is much more dynamic.mcgruff10 said:Anybody know a cheap place to pick up:

Yeah I have the original too. I might need to buy this. Import cd is the best.mrussel1 said:

How to dismantle an atomic bombthanks for the tip. Now I just need achtung baby, really the only 2 u2 albums I love.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.0 -
War... that's the remaster I'm waiting for. The original is muddled but the music is so great. Bullet the Blue Sky should have been on that album. I'm not a U2 expert, but the style seems more in line with War.RoleModelsinBlood31 said:

But yes, my interest in U2 ends with Achtung. That was a good album but it started the transformation that left me behind. I love political music.0 -
Not specifically a question about this album but more of a question about greatest hits albums. With the material on the album coming from several different recording sessions and several disparate album masters - how can a audiophile album be created like this?MedozK said:Picked this one up this week. In 1981 they probably cut a hits master from the master tapes. This reissue was probably cut from that hits master. But it is entirely possible they went back to original tapes and redid it from those0

Not cheap, but the 20th Anniversary deluxe blue vinyl boxset for Atchung Baby is pretty sweet .... for less than $200.mcgruff10 said:Anybody know a cheap place to pick up:

I actually have it, but bought it when it came out for face value, which I think was around $100 or so? I thought it was worth it at the time, apparently.mcgruff10 said:It really is a nice package, but the 3rd and 4th discs are various remixes.... TBH I don't like any of those, really. They're mostly kind of like dance remixes, which to me is almost like a symbol of some of the bad things to come after Achtung Baby. That's why if I had to do it over, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I guess I paid that much because I had collectors' brain that day and wanted some blue vinyl, lol. Plus the actual box is swanky. It's the kind with the magnetic flap, lol.

Pop, Zoo, etc. that was too different than the U2 I wanted to hear. Achtung was a transition for sure...0 -

Man. Zooropa is one of my favorite U2 albums. I was able to track down a legit original pressing (Its massively bootleged). That being said, I really like electronic music, so those flourishes hit the spot.

I see they pressed the 2 LP Joshua Tree again. How does that sound vs the Original 1 LP pressing. May be worth picking up.
