I don't give a shit how wrong he was about the election. pretty much everyone was.

Not everybody knows. Trump tweets a position similar to one that Hillary Clinton previously took and then people show up to burn flags outside trump tower. He will probably never push for the policy he tweeted about but he makes the left over react and sandbag themselves. I actually agree with you on the speech issue but in the end it's the left that looks insane burning the flag. That is Trump's genius. Do the dems want to be the party of flag burners? I don't think so but that's how they come across. Next time they should not take the bait.
    there is no genius here.

It really is crazy. The dems have imploded and learned absolutely nothing. The average age of republican congressional leadership is 47 while the average age of democratic congressional leadership is 76. They are old, tired and completely out of ideas and have decided that their party would best be served by Keith Ellison and another dose of San Francisco liberalism. The republicans could have a supermajority in the senate in a few years.
Not when the white privileged class sees what they want to do to their government benefits, namely social security and Medicare. Throw in the red southern states that get more than they give in government largess and you won't see super majorities in either house. And what great policies or legislation did the republicans formulate over the past 8 years, seeing how you think the Dems were bereft of ideas?

He has created extremely low expectations for success and the left helped him with that. His "promises" are very loosely defined and his base knows that he is not-ideological. He will be judged on results and results alone. Much slack will be given to him provided his voters feel things are moving in the right direction. The "promise" checklist will not be a problem for him.
I agree especially if the standard to which Trumps campaign promises are met are measured against Bush and Obama.

Regardless, he owes no special interest groups or lobbyist anything. They figured he was toast and focused on congressional backing.

He owes the GOP nothing. They wouldn't touch him with a ten foot poll until after he won.

Hillary owes (if she won) a lot of people a lot of favors.
Wow, that's incredibly naive. You've been fooled. He is apart of the very establishment you thought you voting against. You think he doesn't owe anyone? Why in the hell do you think he picked Bannon as his top aide?

It is mind boggling how Hilliary lost to a relative unknown black male in the 08 primary on the simple and vague promise of "hope and change" then got trounced 306-232 in this years general by Trump with all his baggage and his message of wall building and swamp draining.

Here's 27 pages of the vague promises Obama made while campaigning:

Meanwhile, Trump can't fart without contradicting himself, flip-flopping, or outright lying. Usually all 3 at once.

I know you are sick and tired of it. Obama was sick and tired of it as well. That is why he made the foreign policy decisions he made and that is why the vacuum came to be. As long as you are aware that those decisions come with terrible consequences then so be it. Others on here argue that all is good...that Obama's decisons were consequence free. At least you admit to being indifferent to genocide. That type of honesty is a breath of fresh air.
