Man, just when I was starting to believe some of this rhetoric about republicans being the crazy flock, I read that the democrats just reelected Nancy Pelosi as their leader. Trump may actually pull off 8 years! Keeping people like her, Feinstein, Schumer, Reid, Manchin, Murphey around are not going to pursued me to vote down the D line.

It really is crazy. The dems have imploded and learned absolutely nothing. The average age of republican congressional leadership is 47 while the average age of democratic congressional leadership is 76. They are old, tired and completely out of ideas and have decided that their party would best be served by Keith Ellison and another dose of San Francisco liberalism. The republicans could have a supermajority in the senate in a few years.

It was a false celebration and a smart president would have known that. The US needed to backstop the real agents of change instead of allowing the nefarious actors to get footholds in the region. President Obama failed miserably by not supporting the Green Revolution in Iran and by putting it's weight behind the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. They also helped in the overthrow of Gaddafi (so restrained) while letting Islamists get a foothold there. Obama's military pullback from Iraq allowed the expansion of ISIS which then pushed into Syria. The genocide there is due to his policies.

Not everybody knows. Trump tweets a position similar to one that Hillary Clinton previously took and then people show up to burn flags outside trump tower. He will probably never push for the policy he tweeted about but he makes the left over react and sandbag themselves. He has created extremely low expectations for success and the left helped him with that. His "promises" are very loosely defined and his base knows that he is not-ideological. He will be judged on results and results alone. Much slack will be given to him provided his voters feel things are moving in the right direction.
