So much for draining the swamp. Nominating Steve Mnuchin to be Treasury Secretary -- a billionaire hedge fund manager and Goldman Sachs alumnus who preyed on homeowners struggling during the recession -- is a slap in the face to voters who hoped he would shake up Washington," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Adam Hodge in a statement. "Trump is already heading into office as the most corrupt, conflicted, and unpopular president-elect in history, and now he's breaking his signature promise to the voters who elected him."

there is no genius here.BS44325 said:
Not everybody knows. Trump tweets a position similar to one that Hillary Clinton previously took and then people show up to burn flags outside trump tower. He will probably never push for the policy he tweeted about but he makes the left over react and sandbag themselves. I actually agree with you on the speech issue but in the end it's the left that looks insane burning the flag. That is Trump's genius. Do the dems want to be the party of flag burners? I don't think so but that's how they come across. Next time they should not take the bait.HughFreakingDillon said:

The real conflict of interest is in where Trump receives his funding and bank loans and the investors in his projects. Something his tax returns would reveal. BCCI anyone? Not that the average Trump voter could explain or understand what a conflict of interest is.

Not when the white privileged class sees what they want to do to their government benefits, namely social security and Medicare. Throw in the red southern states that get more than they give in government largess and you won't see super majorities in either house. And what great policies or legislation did the republicans formulate over the past 8 years, seeing how you think the Dems were bereft of ideas?BS44325 said:
It really is crazy. The dems have imploded and learned absolutely nothing. The average age of republican congressional leadership is 47 while the average age of democratic congressional leadership is 76. They are old, tired and completely out of ideas and have decided that their party would best be served by Keith Ellison and another dose of San Francisco liberalism. The republicans could have a supermajority in the senate in a few years.PJPOWER said:Man, just when I was starting to believe some of this rhetoric about republicans being the crazy flock, I read that the democrats just reelected Nancy Pelosi as their leader. Trump may actually pull off 8 years!

I agree especially if the standard to which Trumps campaign promises are met are measured against Bush and Obama.BS44325 said:
He has created extremely low expectations for success and the left helped him with that. His "promises" are very loosely defined and his base knows that he is not-ideological.
