Oh? How do you figure? Not looking to minimize terrorist attacks or anything, but I am always interested in the real risk vs the assumed risk....Thirty Bills Unpaid said:

Do you think it's probably some other group/individual? Why don't you throw a reasonable alternative so that people making assumptions should pause before they do?PJ_Soul said:

I have no idea. TBH, when I first read about the explosion my first thought was "jilted lover" because I have seen stories about this being a somewhat common thing, where some nut job whose girlfriend or wife kicked him out tries to burn down their apartment building, and I know this because that exact thing happened in an apartment building where I lived back in the 90s.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:

But after reading about another reason bomb... I still have no idea. I think domestic terrorism is just as likely. I have to honestly say that while of course it's one of the main options, and perhaps what's happened in NYC, my mind doesn't just automatically jump to Islamic terrorism when these kinds of events occur, as though that is by far the most likely culprit.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. They're running away with the scoring title right now, PJSoul.
Jilted lover? Blowing randoms up versus killing his ex? Not near as likely as some brainwashed idiot following suit."My brain's a good brain!"0 -
jilted lover using pipe bombs and pressure cooker bombs? I've never heard of that happening before.PJ_Soul said:

No, I'm not saying I think that with more info, nor that that is a likely scenario in general. I meant when I first heard about it, like minutes after, it crossed my mind because it sounded like the target was an apartment building, and when it's a residential target, the chances are higher that it's a personal thing.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:They're running away with the scoring title right now, PJSoul.

I didn't say that's ever happened, and didn't suggest that might be the case here.mcgruff10 said:

You're confusing scruffy and I. With scruffy... that's not hard to do, but when you factor in genius here... you might want to think about what you said."My brain's a good brain!"0 -

So they attack a pretty gay area of New York. That doesn't make a ton of senseDegeneratefk said:

In another new wrinkle, a hand-written letter, a portion of which is in Arabic, was found inside a plastic bag that held the second device, sources said.
Cops were interviewing two men who claim to have spotted a potential person of interest in the case, sources said.
The witnesses were dining at the Krush bar and grill on 32nd Street about a half-hour before the 8:30 p.m. Saturday explosion when they saw an Arab-looking man who was carrying a suitcase and appeared out of place, sources said.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -
