  • I really don't see how this latest speech debacle would make Trump a bad POTUS.
What is so bad about a future first lady emulating a former first ladies' words?

If she had referenced Michelle Obama, then no problem. But she claimed the words and sentiments as her own (quite specifically. She claimed that she wrote most of the speech herself.... which is likely a lie anyhow). So her first real attempt to reach out to the people is done through theft and a lie. Even just symbolically, that is a fucking bad start, lol. And to make matters worse, it's the sitting Democratic First Lady (or her 2008 speech writers, presumably - we don't actually know for sure who wrote the words originally) who she stole from. That isn't so great for someone who wants to be the Republican First Lady, haha. Finally.... that woman is just full of shit. She doesn't fucking care about Americans at all. I think this is just obvious. She's just some gold digging lady who wants to be the First Lady because it makes her special. That's it. I don't believe for one single second that Mrs. Trump cares about anyone other than herself. That her speech had to come from a better woman who obviously really does care only highlights that Mrs. Trump does not and can't even pretend to very well.

There is an utter incompetence to the whole campaign. Can't even get the most important speech of the night correct.

True. His personality, ignorance, lack of experience, and belief system will.

Yes. All points that Trump protesters use.
The speech thing can't be added to this list.

It means Trump obviously can't build a good team around him. That is the problem I see. If they can't even write a speech from scratch for Mrs. Trump then how can we trust him to put together a team to run the White House? Trump can't micromanage the White House.

That's not the point. It makes her a bad candidate as First Lady. She represents him. That's the problem (or not a problem for those who hate Trump, lol. For us this is pretty awesome).
(there are already more than enough things proving that Trump will make a bad POTUS)

It may make her a bad candidate to some but it is being portrayed all over the media as yet another reason why Trump will never win and oh my god this is terrible and oh my god it's the end of the world she gave a bad speech.
She emulated a few words big deal.

 She didn't emulate. She plagiarized. There is a significant difference. And yes, it IS another reason why Trump shouldn't win. No one wants an insincere lying phony as the First Lady. It's another reason not to vote for Trump.

    Not just a few words...plagiarism.

I don't blame Melania. Not her fault at all. It's just another example of how fucked up and disorganized Drumpf's campaign is.

It's her fault that she said she wrote most of the speech herself though, which was clearly a lie that backfired on her. It's also her fault that she doesn't mean a fucking word of that speech, nor any of the sentiments within it. She has never given us a single reason to think she gives a shit about any of what was said in that speech. I think she is WAY out of her depth.

Y'all do realize Obama flat out stole word-for-word quotes from other candidates as well right?

100% agree. Just didn't want anyone under the misconception that this is the first time a speech writer has borrowed from another speech writer. Which is really all this bullshit is. No one really gives their own speeches anymore, which is mind boggling to me.

  • I'm surprised Trumps' people haven't dug this up yet.
Please turn your attention to these two links
    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-19/did-michelle-obama-also-borrow-her-2008-speech

“...is based upon the application of certain basic truths: that integrity is all important, that your word is your bond, that if you owe a person money you pay him back, that you work hard, enjoy what you do and show a loyalty to those with whom you work and do business. He instilled in me simple, clear cut values and a will to succeed"

    and
Michelle Obamas paragraph plagiarized a paragraph from pg91 of this book.

Yes. The Clinton's were all over Obama for the same in 2008 but the Obama fans all looked past it.

I never minded being Rick-rolled because I happen to like that song a fair bit, lol. It's catchy as hell. I always happily just sat there and listened until it was over.

I like it but for childhood nostalgia reasons like most cheesy 80s songs.
