yeah, someone else posted that article earlier this week. Def spot on.
Howard's WAR from 2010 to current is NEGATIVE 2.2. he is horrendous
I've also still yet to see a 1B at any level who catches throws from infielders with two hands. That's what happens when you have seal hands0 -
Ha...it's funny you post this one a day where he's reached base all 5 times he's been up.The Fixer said:This guy is a hacker...Eflin getting a lot of positive buzz though, which is good to hear.
Nick Williams 2016 Walk Watch: Zero walks (in five games) since last week’s list, leaving his total at seven on the season in 160 plate appearances, and moving his walk rate to a less-than-sterling 4.3 percent rate (against 38 strikeouts).
Williams’ OBP has crept down to .290 on the year as the 22-year old adjusts to Triple-A pitching, and Williams has only stolen six bases in 60 games since joining his new organization.
Needs to work on plate disciple for sure, though. Not sure if you follow Matt Winkleman or not but apparently he's been seeing a lot more pitches and doing a better job of working counts over the last few weeks....www.myspace.com0 -
Sweet. I'm playing Bella Vista tomorrow. Real nice course. Has a hole modeled after Saw Grass' 17. Can't wait to test out the new clubs...Cliffy6745 said:

I hope it works for him, but I think he's gonna have a tough time sticking as an everyday guy on a competitive team. Should have told texas Mazara or bust. See his HR last night? JesusThe Juggler said:

Herrera and Bryant(Cubs) have improved their plate discipline. Why can't Williams?Alright, alright, alright!

I guess you don't have to cheer for him but silence would be better than anything else. The Fixer said:

It's not really him I have a problem with. He's sucked since 2009. The Phillies management is the problem...he should have been the first one to go when they finally started this rebuildAlright, alright, alright!

kris bryant had an OBP of 399 in the minors. 369 this year, 368 last year in the majorsJK_Livin said:Herrera and Bryant(Cubs) have improved their plate discipline. Why can't Williams?
herrera had an OBP of 354 in the minors. 440 this year, 344 last year in majors.
Both guys major league performance is symmetrical with what they did in the minors, with an obvious decline based on better comp at the major league level. Herrera off to a crazy start this year, but chances are that falls in line with what he has previously done. Season is only a quarter old.
Rule of thumb is that plate discipline isn't something that generally changes much.0 -
Oh that's kinda sweet. Would like to check that out. I am playing RON JAWORSKI's Riverwinds. Extremely convenient. The Juggler said:

The Bella Vista hole looks really cool. That said, Sawgrass may be more convenient for me to get to than that.Post edited by Cliffy6745 on0 -
I was referring to walk/K ratio for both , which both have improved upon. The Fixer said:

impossible when I'm forced to see it almost daily. I love the phillies but they really do suck as an organizationJK_Livin said:

I'd say the organization is vastly improved compared to a few years ago. Not even close really.www.myspace.com0

I'd say so - eg that article on Middleton in Philly Mag. Sure take it with a grain of salt, but as long as that guy keeps buying up shares to become majority owner I think we're in good hands (dude's at 48% and he's pretty much the proxy vote for the remaining Buck brothers). The Juggler said:I'd say the organization is vastly improved compared to a few years ago. Yes he did. He just redid the bar and dining area. Haven't been there yet though.Cliffy6745 said:

he had a peak of 3-4 good years. Only one season with a WAR of 4+. He's going to go down as the most overrated phillie ever, and one of the most overrated in MLB history.pjhawks said:
