It's safe to say that the 2016 version of ryan howard is one of the worst position players to ever wear a phillie uniform. Why is he on this roster????????? I can't take it anymore

Ha, perfect timing -- though he should have been dumped years ago. It's even more painful than usual watching him this season. In typical phillies fashion they are dragging this out way longer than they should.
I was reading an article on this, and it really seems like the front office is screwing Mackanin. It shouldn't be his place to make this decision, the front office should be doing it for him.
yeah, it's all on montgomery -- and amaro for giving him that contract to begin with.
Right, but I'm just saying the new front office should be making this move for Mackanin than putting him in the spot of having to deal with it in the clubhouse.

Nationals have 3 guys in the top 25 (including the number 1 prospect). Braves have two guys. Phillies have one

You guys know where I stand with this stuff. That hamels guy is having a pretty good season yet again.

Bottom line is the Phils' farm system is in better shape than most of the rest of the league....with the top pick in the draft coming in a few weeks.

Far cry from just a couple years ago.

Let's remember who used to be the #1 prospect over Mike Trout. These rankings are meaningless. Produce or GTFO.

That's why I like having an abundance of guys in the top 100. Multiple lottery tickets.

But I can't wait to see JP up here

Agree that these rankings aren't the be all end all. Trout was the top prospect for 2 years straight though. Not like he came out of nowhere.

I don't like the phils system. Give me a system like the nats (and braves) over the phils. the phillies might have a deeper system, but the nats have 3 probable beasts, where as the phils have one. I will take a farm system of quality over quantity every single time.

This draft is huge. The phillies need more top end talent -- their system is full of role players, back end starters (thompson, eflin, etc), and future relievers (appel). Cannot afford another Larry Greene type pick -- the pick after him was the guy I wanted them to take -- Jackie Bradley Jr, who has worked out pretty well for the turd sox.

June is a huge month for philly sports. Phils have the top pick, Sixers have the top pick, and the flyers have a boatload of early picks. Lot of draft action coming.

I'm assuming this post came after an at-bat two days ago where the pitcher blew three straight fastballs by him without any fear that he might hit it? It replaced an at-bat by an end-of-the-line Jeff Conine from about 10 years ago as the saddest at-bat I've ever seen.
