    If waiting until 48 hours before to cancel was about max exposure then should we expect Eddie to be on CNN today railing against this law? It's pretty easy to cancel a show and go down the road and play another one and collect a large check. Show up at a rally at least.

    Let's not forget that this band entered into an agreement and played a show at Target headquarters not that long ago. That's a company with a pretty shaky history on LGBT issues.

    I hope for Ed's sake the Cubs don't end up in the World Series against a team from one of these states.

    Waiting to cancel this show did not create greater exposure. The exposure would have been the same a week ago as it is today.

    Chicago borders Indiana...which has horrible civil rights laws. Chicago benefits from Indiana money,etc. Besides the fact Chicago has its own issues with discrimination by the police, does it really matter that Chicago is in Illinois? If you are really trying to make a difference in Indiana, Chicago should be off limits too. Indiana (and its politicians and economics and businesses) is hurt by cancellations in Chicago too. Cancelling high profile Wriggly shows brings way more exposure than a Raleigh show.

    Oh you mean this Target...Target is sort of a mixed bag when it comes to worker rights, both in their stores and in factories. In stores, Target has a history of bullying employees to discourage organization (read: unions). In fact, in 2013 the National Labor Relations Board forced one Target store to allow its employees to unionize and ruled that the company was illegally suppressing worker rights when it came to organizing.

    The same Target that sells several products that are made overseas in questionable environments including sweatshops.

    They are hypocrites to the fullest. Typical rich people that are out of touch.

    Yeah. I got tickets for Lexington. Surely someone in Kentucky politics has done something dumb that could be used as justifications for cancelling a show based on current precedent.

    Standing up against discrimination is more important than a rock show. I can definitely understand why anyone would be upset and disappointed, but there's a bigger picture here. Treating other humans as we would like to be treated should be a priority in this world. Equality. In the last decade or so, it seems like we have been sliding backwards.
    I have plane tickets to Boston. If they were to cancel the Fenway shows two days prior due to a civil rights issue, I will be bummed, but I will still support the effort. You can't stand up against everything shitty in the world, but when you can, you should.

    But they can standup to other shitty things in the world and in our country. They can stand up to explicit racism by state legislatures from these voter ID laws. They can stand up against women's right and health issues in Chile along with a host of other civil and human right issues like torture, human trafficking, etc. They can stand up to the influence of money in politics from corporations and wall street by refusing to play NYC (if they chose) which contributes to poor equality.

    Hello PJ fans.. This is my first time here as a 10 c member.. Been a fan from the beginning. I've never been a tech kind of person but iI felt compelled to sign up today due to the news of this cancellation of the Raleigh show. I have been supportive of many of PJ's causes throughout the years but I don'tsee why this cancelled show helps a thing. I'm pro choice, anti gun, anti capital punishment. I know I may be bashed for my opinion and that's oOK cause we all have differences in our views. I am against alw that states its OK to use any bathroom one chooses. I just am.. Its not that I'm anti gay. I have no problem with folkswhom find love with whoever they choose. Kudos to love. I'mfor same sex marriage. I have no issues with people who identify with the opposite sex.. Be happy I say. The fact is that we have perverse people out there that will abuse the right to use whatever restroom they choose, to do perverse things. I don't think transgender people are perverse. In my opinion they wouldn't be the problem. Its just a fact that somewhere out there is. Letting everyone use whatever bathroom they choose can cause one person to be violated. For that reason I do not think its good to allow open bathrooms.. If NC keeps this law and it means one women, man or child is not sexually approached in perverse manner then I think its good. Its just like saying if we could save one life by getting rid of guns isn't it worth it? I'll disagree with PJ on this one and many of you folks, but its just an opinion. Thanks for reading.

    These types of takes bother me to the fullest extent.....

    Pearl Jam fans are fully aware of the HB2 law...its been talked about waaaay before Bruce cancelled his show on MT forum

    So instead of taking the platform and using it to their advantage and raising money for a good cause they crapped on their fans for what??? tell me what exactly cancelling the show did to the politicians who wrote this bill??? NOTHING....they don't care...The people who do care of the honest business working people (some transgender??) who are now not going to make some money to provide for their family due to people coming into the state

    So instead you piss off 20,000 people who you already had the support of to begin with to try and reach who exactly?? you think the average person who isn't a fan of Pearl Jam is going to care what Eddie Vedder says? Do you think cancelling this show brings any awareness to those not already in tune with this subject?? NO!

    What they did is drive a wedge in their fan base by riding the coattails of Bruce

    Lastly, cancel the rest of the tour...Lexington? see ya..some of the worst transgender laws on the books...every city has issues...take the cause to every city or look like your riding the "next cool thing" to be a part of
