Does he even have a path to the nomination? Just curious, is he staying in just to keep his issue in the media?

He has no realistic path to the nomination, but the only other candidate has very real and very concerning negatives. He will continue to get votes from Democrats who are not satisfied with Hillary Clinton and who are unhappy with the way this primary has been run. Plus he gets to keep his issues in the media.

And she gets to stay in the news as well, which is good for her. As long as he doesn't turn vicious on her. If he does, that will effectively end his productive career in the Senate though.

Vicious? Not a word I would use to describe Bernie Sanders.

Well I hope not. He should spend his time talking about his policies and contrasting them the GOP side.

So let me get this straight... Bernie Sanders wants everything to be free socialist society. The "rich" people pay all the taxes and everyone gets to free load. Free college tuition so you can go to school and get degrees to further yourself, to get the better higher paying jobs, so you can get taxed at 90% after you start your great job???? Seriously?? The guy is just as nutty as Trump. He might not be labeled a biggot but he's still fucking nuts...

Well, I think this is a bit hyperbolic, but there's an element of truth. And it's really the problem with the policies. When you start taxing people at 45% at 200k family incomes, you start losing voters. Starting with me. I've been saying for a long time that the issue is the cost of tuition. But I don't hear Elizabeth Warren railing against her former employer (Harvard) who charges 60k a year for tuition while it sits on a 37 BILLION dollar endowment. Where's the outrage there, Senators Warren and Sanders?

Agreed. Where's the cap on tuition fees?? Where is the regulation for misuse of college funding?? Why does a college football stadium need to have a movie theater and bowling alley?? Why the hell should a college president make more than a million dollars?? Because it's just another corporation with the same lawyers and lobbying for loop holes and greed...

Exactly! Schools have become these vacation lands with innumerable meal plan choices, beautiful quads, exercise facilities, etc.. Well it wasn't like that when I went to a 36k student public school in FL. I went to class and then went to work at a restaurant that night. That was life and it was tough. I could only take 9 hours a semester due to work so it took over five years to graduate. I'm sorry, I don't have a ton of sympathy for white middle class students today.

It's not irrational. If you disagree, that's great. Say why. Hate to see another AMT thread go down the drain.

No it's common sense. I didn't vote for Trump in the OH primary, and do not consider myself a Trump supporter at this time. I really wanted to vote for Rand Paul, but obviously that's not gonna happen...

Exactly. I worked thru college as resident assistant 2.5 years in the dorm that I lived in. I lived in the dorm all 4 years, because I sure as hell couldn't afford an apartment. Had boatload of college loan debit after graduate school. How about reimbursement of my tuition and interest fees, plus compounded interest for my money. This whole free loader mentality is ridiculous. People don't want to contribute to society but want everything contributed to them. Free tuition, free healthcare, free whatever. And no one should disagree with any of it??? How about the fact that I need water to drink to survive as a human being, and that I "deserve" free clean drinking water coming out my faucet. I deserve free plumbing so my shit doesn't back up in my house (literally). How about free electric because I need to have power for my computers and to charge my iPad...
The welfare system is broken in this country. Too much gaming of the system. So let's have more immigrants come in and jump on the bandwagon. The welfare system needs fixed to benefit the people who actually need it. The government is broken in this country, too much greed, lobbying, corruption. The whole thing needs fixed. Neither party has all the answers.

I don't think it needs to be blown up as some do. When you study history, there's scant evidence of any political system that has been more open, fair, inclusive or transparent than our current system of government. I'm not arguing that we don't continuously improve (hence, why I'm a Progressive), but not recognizing the positives in our existing system is shortsighted as well.

Sorry if I came across as that. Just think that there needs to be more oversight in government where people are held accountable and the corruption decreases. You can't just keep trying to fix problems by throwing money into programs that are flawed. Expansion of government is not the fix. Correct the problems, but that means stepping on some toes, not walking on egg shells...

You didn't, but I hear this all the time from people. It's as if there is no historical perspective of where we are as a society, relative to other civilizations.

Agree M. Social security, Medicaid, AHC Tax rates. If all really wanted to make this country better we'd be able to do so much.

I don't understand how wanting to not go 40K in debt for an education is asking for handouts? Last I checked going to school (especially finishing in 4 years as I did) is hard work. It is not being lazy. It doesnt make much sense to me to use the words wanting education and lazy in the same sentence. If we were lazy, we wouldn't give a damn about getting an education, we would just be flipping burgers.

Anyone ever take a look at college and university president and board of directors salaries increases over the past 10 20 years?
