I went for the Verb hotel on 8/7...easy stumbling distance to the show and various pubs. Plus, who can't complain about an outdoor pool in the middle of Boston in August during a Pearl Jam concert weekend. If anyone needs to store their pop up shop posters in a safe location before the show, just let me know. LOL

That place looks super cool -- a total throwback to the 1960s.

How about the elephant in the room. What about parking? As I and my wife will be driving in and then out after the show to my friend's house out of town.

Good question and one i would like to know.

Where is a good place to park, that's not too far to walk to Fenway, but is also a easy route back out to the Mass. TP?
During Red Sox games the Sheraton Boston in back bay always had parking for $15-20. Might be worth giving them a call at some point and see if they offer the same during concerts. About a 10 minute walk to Fenway and easy access to Mass pike.

I've used the Prudential Center Garage for games at Fenway before. 10-15 min walk, close to the highway. Usually runs specials during games, not sure about concerts.

Garage at 100 Clarendon is about a 20 minute walk but the prices are good and it has a ramp directly on to the Pike westbound.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

Just got a great deal on Hotwire. Fri-Mon (3 nights) 4 star Boston Common - Theater district area boutique hotel for $275 CDN ($195 US) per night. Got the W Boston!

That deal still seems to be there so anyone booking now will likely get the W for that price.

Seriously! Your username is how I felt while looking for Boston hotels!
Still looking here. Staying with a friend, but hoping to find a reasonable Air Bnb. Not holding my breath, though.

My hotel is charging me $35.00 for parking. WTF?! It hurts my brain to think that a place to park my car isn't included when I book a hotel room. What else are you doing with the parking lot??

  • We are considering Hilton Boston Back Bay. Wife always worried about clean hotels. Does anyone have any knowledge of the hotel? Or other suggestions for Hilton property??? For the Hilton points.

It is a lot but that also includes all of the taxes, which is 14.4% in Boston. So $72 of the $100 is just paying the taxes and the Hotwire fee is the difference. When you book a hotel on line or directly you are quoted a rate that doesn't include the 14.4% taxes, which you pay when you check out. So all in all it's only a $28 Hotwire fee. Not really that bad IMO.

It sucks but is very common in many cities. It is usually included in vacation destination type hotels but not city-style hotels.
  • Booked direct through the hotel, not Hotwire.. I understand the fees. Just saying everyone takes there cut, not just Ticketmaster.
  • I was looking to stay with friends in Stoneham for the concerts (originally was mistaken they lived in Boston proper). Whats the public transportation like? I can't seem to find what time trains run until! We do not intend on having a car durign our stay. Any help would be appreciated! Just trying to figure out if I am better off booking an AirBnB closer to the park/attractions.

Last train on the Lowell line, which I assume you would take is 11:30, so probably no chance on that for your ride home. But for a ride in its not bad, just go all the way to north station then hop right on the greenline to Fenway from there!

Likely. Public transit is great especially heading to and from Fenway. But you don't want to be on the Orange line after dark...stay as far from the Orange line as possible...trust me!
