Hey Bostonians. Question for you. Staying at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge for the Fenway shows. Is this walk to and from doable and safe at night? I imagine the path up Commonwealth Avenue along the university is best. Need advice as I will be with the Mrs.

If you do a little research, compare the amenities listed on ED with what hotel lists and go to http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/topic/23312/BOSTON-HOTELS-LIST#.V4eOf7grLNM you will have a pretty good idea what you're getting.

As long as you are OK with the walk that area is pretty safe. Be aware of your surroundings of course but there will be plenty of people around and you should be fine.

Found a couple of friends to split a hotel with in Brookline, 17 min walk from the park. Still super $$ for me, but this trip is all about the memories, and I'm excited everything is set in stone :)

For anyone still looking, if you are okay with shared bathrooms, Anthony's Townhouse is on Beacon Street, about a 10 min. walk to Fenway and they have rooms at $98/night with tax. I just cancelled my old booking and booked here.

Anyone recently book a hotel for a reasonable price? As a Canadian, having to pay about 1.3 times the price, I am astounded by the going rates! Went to Boston in 2008 and pricelined the Back Bay Hilton for like $80/night. Same hotel is now like $450 per!

This is one of the reasons it's important to join loyalty clubs if you travel a lot (in or outside of PJ). Points made 3 nights at this hotel run $0 for me.

Booked at Boston Park Plaza, $209/night, seems like it isn't too bad a distance. Looks nice. Hopefully it is!!

Staying there as well...though supposedly there's a newer section that's renovated which is really nice and an older section which is not (and I'm guessing the cheaper rooms like yours and mine are not gonna be in the renovated section).

Just call the hotel and request that you be placed in the renovated section. They should be able to accommodate your request this far in advance. Good luck!

Booked a room at the Verb hotel around when tix were released. Wanted to be close to the park. Taking the train with a concert buddy from Portland, Maine on Sunday morning for Fenway 2. Boston is going to explode with PJ mania that weekend. Can't fucking wait.

be careful... 1.9 miles in the wrong direction isn't a great part of town

but... as long as you're not strolling the streets at night you should be fine
