Not a bad price at all for that hotel. Overlooks the Public Garden, right at the end of Newbury Street. Great spot.

I went on vrbo and was able to get a place in Brookline (on Kent St. actually) for $225/night. First time staying in the city, says it was a 15 minute walk to Fenway. Wondering how true that might be and how the area is? Thanks for any info

Brookline basically is enveloped by Boston, so you're essentially in Boston...a stone's throw from Fenway, and very accessible by the T (the subway) and lots of good restaurants, etc. You're closer to Fenway than some spots in Boston proper ;)

Kent Street is reasonably close, 15 minute walk sounds about right.

  • Booked the Midtown Hotel which looks to be easy walking distance over to Fenway. For under $200 on a summer weekend in Boston for essentially just a place to crash post-show, had to take that deal.
Hear My Name, take a good look, this could be the day!

What site did u book that through? I found it for same price, but when I went to book it, I kept getting an error message. Then I noticed it seemed to be an international web site so wasn't sure how legitimate it was. When I looked on orbitz and other sites, the Taj was around 400 a night. Not sure what the deal is.

Hotel Commonwealth. I booked a room as soon as the dates were released. I checked recently and the rates are now 125/night higher than when I booked

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

I went for the Verb hotel on 8/7...easy stumbling distance to the show and various pubs. Plus, who can't complain about an outdoor pool in the middle of Boston in August during a Pearl Jam concert weekend. If anyone needs to store their pop up shop posters in a safe location before the show, just let me know. LOL
