Waited until 9:30pm..to get the best email I've ever gotten... Won GA Night 1 Wrigley! Won GA Night 2 Wrigley!
Amaze-balls!
That's impressive! There must be a lot of GA tickets. It's not often it spills over to 2nd preference. I feel mildly guilty about telling my friend to ga night 1/reserved night 1/reserved night 2. I guess hindsight is 20/20 but he could of had GA night 2 instead of reserved :( He didn't get the night 1's, so it seemed a shame he didn't try for GA's on night 2. I guess you don't know that when your trying though.
Since you can't pick up GA tix until the day of, how does the GA 1 person get their GA 2 nightly ticket. I.e. what method have people used to make sure the night 2 commitment holds? I'm asking since I have GA 1 and might be interested in swapping night 1 ga single for night 2 ga single. Thanks

anyone familiar with this area? Never been to Chicago. I just picked a cheap hotel relatively close to Wrigley. Best way to get to the field from here without driving?
In the north Chicago neighborhood of Peterson Park, this modest hotel is 3 miles from Lane Beach, 5 miles from Wrigley Field ballpark and 10 miles from O'Hare International Airport.

The area is fine but transit options to Wrigley leave a little bit to be desired. It's also not really near anything stereotypically touristy so if you're looking to make a weekend of it, I'd look elsewhere unless budget doesn't allow.
Sclinville, the area around Wrigley is not bad east of park. I park near (what we call here) the inner drive and it's 1/2 mile to walk to Wrigley. Like all places, keep your eye on your surroundings, don't walk alone if you can avoid it, but you shouldn't have any problem. There will be a lot of police out, since the neighborhood is always crying about something! To loud, to many people, to this..to that..LOL...

I won reserved for night 1. Didn't put in for night 2. Gotta be back at work. Will probably kick myself but will listen in on the Wrigley Earth Cam thing. Let's go batter, no rain this time!

It's really just a room to sleep in for the night. I am definitely concerned about getting to and from the stadium though. Would something around the airport be better? I have never been to Chicago and don't have much experience with public transportation. Would love something that a train or bus would take us to.
Airport to far away unless you flying into Midway. Uber to the park from there. There are not a lot of hotels in wrigleyville. If you have coin, stay downtown, or just north of downtown near a subway station and take the train would be my best advice.

You can find something by the airport (o'hare) but wil have to do 2 transfers of trains to get to wrigley. Can be done and a lot of people do it. If you stay in Rosement, have the Casino to play at as well.

If you can stay on one of the train lines, getting to Wrigley will be a snap. O'Hare is a long haul from Wrigley, though. Wouldn't recommend staying out there unless it really is just to save some massive coin.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
That's if you get on at Addison. You can walk a few blocks north and get on at the Irving Park Stop, or go a few blocks south and get on at Belmont. I heard it was much easier. Bit of a hike though either way, but the concert buzz will make it a fun walk. They will also have Bike messengers in the street looking for rides...

This hotel is a DUMP, and you will not be happy with your choice of area either. Spend the extra money and either stay downtown, or out by the Rosemont area(5 minutes from airport).

Ok what about this Hampton Inn? Downtown. Easy access to Wrigley?

Nice place. About 1/2 mile walk/cab to CTA Red line. Chicago/State stop. Red line takes you directly to Wrigley.Get off at Addison.

Anyone have any info on the Days Inn off Clark St about a mile south of the stadium? Wife and I plan to walk from there. Crazy but never been to Chicago before.
