If flying in I recommend using Ft.Lauderdale airport not Miami. If going to both shows stay by the water in either Lauderdale or Miami.Everything is always around 20 -30 min away.Nothing out in the swamp out by BBand T really walking friendly anyway.
For example,if you stay in downtown Miami or south beach you just need to schlep up to bbandt for Friday night. But you would have all day to play sat and Sunday. You can get a great breakfast on a sidewalk table out in front of the Art Deco hotels in south beach.great scenery as well.

Completely agree. I was going to post something similar.
Getting out of BB&T is a breeze compared to the AAA.
Luckily, I live down here. But if I were traveling in, I would prefer to stay closer to the second show (Miami). Tons of rooms on South Beach, and with Easter being a bit earlier this year, hopefully a lot of the tourists and snowbirds will have left town a week before the concerts. Not sure why, but it always seems like Easter is when people head back home (I work in a snowbird heavy job, so it's very noticeable when they leave).

I'm bummed I actually have to drive for these shows. We have been lucky up in Palm Beach getting all the shows the last 16 years.Im heading home after Friday night, but I'll stay at the Hilton by the Arena for sat night.

    Bingo!!!
South Beach or bust. I'm already booked in at The Stanton on Ocean/5th Thurs-Mon.
Stayed there twice last winter for work 18 days. Never got to sit out at the oceanfront pool or on the beach. Left every day before sunrise and got back after dark. Can't wait to actually chill at that hotel!
It's in the lower quieter portion of SB and has many great places to eat and drink.
Walk to Joes Stone Crab, Prime Fish Prime Steak..... Etc.
Or Short Uber to Yardbird Southern or Strip Steak in the Fountain Blue.

Would love to meet some PJ fans at the pool bar.

Pricey hotel but I have it covered free with MARRIOT reward points.

My wife and I plan on staying in South Beach as well. Can anyone recommend the better parts(good restaurants walking distance) of south beach to stay? We plan on using airbnb since we are going to stay a week.
I'm getting a little worried the Miami and Ftl shows for reserved are around 60%.

For those staying on South Beach and want a little PJ history, there is a club called The Cameo down there (I think it still exists). It was an old movie theatre turned into a rock club. I saw tons of bands there when I was growing up and this is where PJ first played South Florida. Ed got a sunburn and later that night jumped into the crowd. OOOOUUUUUCHHHHHHH. You can find the show on Youtube.

PJ hasn't played Miami in 20+ years. The last time they did, there was a riot of the crowds trying to get into the venue (which they did). I think the Miami crowd is going to be nuts and will probably be the closest thing to a South American show since it's easy for folks in South America to fly into Miami. This is the largest of the four arenas.

It'll be interesting to see how many South Americans come up, considering the band will have just played there within the last half-year. Something tells me it'll be fewer than we think, but those South Americans are crazy and if they have the extra money after traveling all around their own continent, who knows.

The exchange rate with US dollars will be prohibitive to many, if not most, S Americans.

Won Resv for MIA & FLL but lost on GA Tampa. Also lost out on localish shows MSG & Philly but don't care. I'm happy with how my strategy played out - never seen opening show and love me some South Beach action.

Flying in Thurs at 8:30p - where's the party at?!?!?
