Personally, I would love to see PJ at the Gorge. I have yet to attend a concert at that venue. It's at the top of my bucket list for concert venues (after just seeing Wilco at Red Rocks last summer).

Also, it was rumored that they would performing sometime in Denver in 2016. While Red Rocks would be amazing, it might be too small for them (unless they did multiple nights like 3 or 4). They could play the Dick's Sporting Good Park. Phish plays there every summer and they could handle the crowd.

I was there to see Phish at Dick's this year. Was a great time. I could totally see Pearl Jam playing at that venue

I think football stadiums work better than baseball stadiums, if you have to have a huge venue. They have similar dimensions to arenas--long, narrow floor area with the tiered seating down either side and at the far end--instead of the wider, odd-angled layout of the baselines in a baseball stadium. And you don't have to have the protected infield area at the back of the field seats, so your crowd flow isn't so broken up with a dead zone of no people. We usually do reserved-seat fields in the U.S. these days (though I saw U2 with a GA floor at Soldier Field in 2009*), but otherwise it's a lot closer to the European/South American stadium setup than the baseball parks can ever be. The baseball parks in question (mostly) have more history, but football stadiums are laid out better for concerts.

*U2 is kind of an exception as far as GA, as their design concept included a central stage and an outer ring stage around it, breaking up the crowd and making for multiple "rail" positions to minimize the crowd push to front row that leads to U.S. avoidance of festival seating.

I've never seen a concert in a football stadium but this is exactly what I was thinking. Makes a lot of sense

I was at both and although I agree with the statement, it is a little unfair to Wrigley. The rain delay really killed most of the Wrigley buzz.

I was at both, and I agree. London, ONT 2013 was truly a treat to anyone who managed their way into the building.

yep....it was awesome. Went to the LaBatt brewery in the afternoon then PJ at night

Red Rocks is NOT a ticketmaster venue.
So it is possible, depending on contracts, for 100% of tickets to go to fanclub.

Fan Club show at Red Rocks would be beyond amazing.

keeping Irving "ticketmaster" Azoff's hand out of the cookie jar would be so COOL. I tried to get ticks for a show at Stone Pony that u could only get thru ticketbastard. The tick was $20 but with TM fees and costs they were $39. Almost a ONE HUNDRED percent increase over the cost of ticket. Shylock aint got nothing on TM.

Ok so we're about two weeks away from the announcement.

Anyone else been a total "boy who cried wolf" to their non message board friends for a few months now?

"No, it's gonna happen, late October announcement-NYC, philly, it's a lock!"
"Ok it got pushed back, but northeast tour, definitely announcing late November"
"Not sure what happened but I really think early dec it's gonna be official, you Ready? Got ur membership up to date? this is it, I mean it this time"

"Eh just ignore me, you'll get an email from pj maybe in January with the dates, but I'm done getting your hopes up"

I keep telling three or four friends about the alleged May dates in Toronto. They say they are "in" and to "just let them know when I get the tickets."

It's a little embarrassing.

The crowd at Wrigley was a little subdued due to circumstances, but come on... Release, Hold On, Bugs, Eruption, Chloe/Crown, Mother, Leatherman, Come Back, All Night, 2 brand new songs, Ernie Banks, affordable bottled water... I'm sure London was fabulous, but Wrigley was "eh"?
