1. Giants/Dodgers - 1219-1187 Giants all-time. Only 32 games separate the two thru regular season history. Both have decent, comparable post-season success (Giants 23 pennants & 8 WS, Dodgers 21 pennants, 6 WS). The fact that the Dodgers owner persuaded Giants owner to move from NY to CA along with them to preserve the rivalry trumps all others. This is the most consistent and arguably the most entertaining rivalry throughout history.
2. Cubs/Cardinals - 1197-1147 Cubs all-time. Only 50 games separate the two thru regular season history, but the Cardinals obviously have much better post-season success than my Cubbies. They've won the most World Series by an NL team and 2nd most all-time. The Cubs have the biggest championship drought in sports history, but have won the only post-season series between the two.
3. Yankees/Red Sox - This might be the most hyped up rivalry, but it's completely lopsided in the Yankees favor. The Yanks hold a 189 game all-time lead and are by far the most successful post-season team in MLB history. Almost everyone outside of Yanks/Sox fans are tired of ESPN shoving all 18 games down our fucking throats every season. On the field, this isn't even close.
Thanks for this...I love a good statistical analysis...and yes, the Dodgers/Giants rivalry does now seem a lot more legit than the Yankees/Sox one.
I agree, the Cubs have a very good team... people should definitely be excited to have such a good young team... and i think the entire country outside of St Louis is rooting for them, myself included... BUT, to be the favorite to win the world series this year, after finishing 3rd in their division last year (albeit with 97 wins), is the definition of over-hyped...
doesn't mean I wont be rooting for them (my Phillies stink right now) and it doesn't mean they wont win 100 games... I just don't like when a team gets too hyped, because it NEVER works out, and I want these guys to win
Obviously I'm in St. Louis and will NEVER root for the Cubs, even more so when you have Theo Epstein bringing the buy a championship model he did with the Red Sox and look where that team is now and how he left them...yeah they got a couple of titles but they got old quick and no farm system
I will admit I'm impressed with the look of the Cubs youth that to me is the one thing that stands out. Cubs are team to beat for the next couple years in the National League
Keith Law ranks Red Sox farm system the best in baseball Now, what about those 4 Red Rock shows?
I don't want to contribute to the thread moving from tour rumors to baseball, but he more recently (last month) ranked them 10th. Still good, but not the best in baseball.
Well, maybe you should've had my Red Rocks quote, that you didn't have, but i fixed that up for you>LOL.
As a long suffering Pittsburgh Pirates fan, all this Cubs talk is just super. I think that ball the one Cubbie player hit in Pittsburgh during the WC game still hasnt landed yet. So based upon that....PJ owes my city a August show.
93x, Minneapolis rock station, has been promoting a Huge concert announcement Monday morning at 8. Not sure if GnR is getting ready to announce yet plus I don't really know their definition of huge. The leaks of US Bank announcing something soon could be tied into this of course I could be eating something better than chicken tonight......I'm not
I tweeted that Iowa DJ who claimed PJ would play US Bank. He replied saying that the PJ show will definitely preceed the Luke Bryant show, and when asked if he had a reliable source, he simply said "yes". I know there's not much news there, but as of this weekend, he is still sticking by his word.

These are odd times. Minneapolis and Sioux City have their announcements at 8am central. The 10 am Sacro announcment would be noon central. One would think that if this is a PJ announcment, all cities would announce at the same time.

There it is... 30 pages back we figured if they were playing any shows before August it would HAVE to be announced Monday March 7... I think we may have nailed this one

Not sure why any dates would have to be announced tomorrow. I highly doubt they would be announcing a whole tour leg without any heads up. So I definitely don't think it's pj that these announcements are eluding to. With that said I definitely think that if there is a summer leg in between Roo and Ride that it would be announced within the next 2 weeks.

i'm going to have some fun and assume a tour & seattle event are coming... i'm going to assume the tour is between 'Roo & Ride in June/July and Seattle is Labor Day Weekend...
if i assume those things the question is, when is the announcement? I guess it would follow the earlier lead, announcing a 15-20 date tour and a large event in Seattle at the same time, with the lotto/public sale for the Seattle event a few weeks after the regular dates lotto/public sale...
my best guess for announcement possibilities: March 7 with a public sale of March 18 (Seattle maybe on April 1st?)... this is 3 months before the tour, and 6 months before the large event... which fits their recent pattern perfectly
anything later in March conflicts with Good Friday/Easter & April Tour... anything in April conflicts with April/May tour so I definitely don't see that... May 2 & 9 they are on tour so that's out... May 16 would mean a public sale on Friday of Memorial Day Weekend, possible but HIGHLY doubt it... May 23 would mean a public sale on June 3, seems too late... May 30 is memorial day so that's out...
so, IF there are tour dates between Roo & Rise, I think they have to announce the week of March 7th... if no announcement is made by the end of that week, I think its safe to say any upcoming tour dates would be later in the year, as was previously discussed in this thread (late summer/autumn)
The thing that slows me down is a total lack of leaks of holds, cities, venues, etc... but there was a brief leak on facebook? Do we know anything more about that?
That breaks down why I think tmw could be a good day
