I'm hoping Wrigley 1 and 2 are NOT gonna be my only PJ shows this year... that makes me sound super ungrateful, but I don't care! I want! I want! Seattle!
I would love 2 shows in Seattle, it will complete my Pearl Jam year nicely.
Yeah! What the Fuck! Do they just think that everybody on the west coast would just pick up and travel east to see them just because it's Pearl Jam??? Maybe I should have? Hahaha!
If they didn't play the West I would almost assume they would play the West next year. PJ tours are a little harder to predict these days. If they added a whole Western leg to the tour it probably be the biggest North American tour since the 2006 tour (this would be one of the first times they did a tour this big without supporting a new album). Does Pearl Jam do an uncharacteristically large tour or do they split it and do Western dates next year?
I'm with you Zod. I didn't go after the East coast stuff because I figured they would come West but the more I think about the logic such as you mention it doesn't look good for us. Here's hoping we're wrong.
According to what Jeff told me on Friday after the RNDM show, what is announced is all there will be this year, with the possibility of 1 other show. I asked him if that could be the rumored Gorge show and he said no. He said they will play the West Coast in 1 to 1 1/2 years, which I assume will coincide with a new album.
Where did you hear that Paul rumour from? I would definitely drive down from Vancouver for that!

Is this the same Jeff ament that told a fan in Montana that they had no plans of doing anything in 2016?? Just saying... Although the only rumors of other shows have been a stadium show in august in Minneapolis. So certainly possible!

Well then I'm glad I got my tickets to Wrigley.
Me too. I don't generally travel that far for PJ shows. Vancouver/Seattle shows are usually my bread and butter. I'm fairly content seeing 2 or 3 shows every few years when they come out this way. The shows are getting further apart and last time we only got 1 show in Seattle :( Got a friend who is living Chicago, Wrigley 1 is on my Bday, so I figured why not. I'm good with two shows. If they play the West this year I'll obviously go, but it would probably mean another gap of 3 to 4 years until they played here again. If they don't play the West it gives me something to look forward to next year.
There's also the cheap part of me that would feel mildly guilty paying all that money to go Chicago in the same year they played my own area.

That is pretty much what I was expecting. The "I can dream, right?" attitude around here lead to monthlong speculation about possible tour legs by people who were 99% sure about stuff without there being any supporting rumours. Just because "they could totally do that" doesn't mean they will.

I wouldn't fault the speculators, it's somewhat unprecedented for them to do such an extensive East Coast heavy tour without West shows following a few months afterwards. If we don't hear something shortly after the first Florida show, then I would lean towards nothing more this year.

It would be unprecedented for Pearl Jam to tour the whole country without having a new record out. This year resembles 2008, but with more shows.

Exactly. I have said that before: The last year PJ toured both the eastcoast and the westcoast without an album release was 1992.

One of the reasons I still think we might get something else is based on previous tour announcements where they specifically say 'these will be the last North American dates of the year.'
If/when May comes and goes without any further announcements...that's when I'll be convinced for real no further announcements are coming.
It would be nice if they would tell us if there are no more shows, or only a few isolated dates will be added.
Sure, but what if the dates aren't finalized? Until the contracts are signed things can still fall through. I think the band/management learned their lesson with Big, Bold and Free. Don't say nothin' till there is somethin' to say.

Absolutely agree here. Neither the original announcement nor the Telluride announcement contains any such language. A strong indication there is something still to come.

I think they have only done that once or twice, I'm not sure it's the norm.

Not the norm overall but we have seen it as recently as last year with Global Citizen.
they are touring from april to august with some time in between shows. these days thats a lot for guys with families who don't seem to want to tour much anymore.

As somebody who works in sales, I completely agree. Tell people this is all there will be to drive up demand for the shows that are in place. Then offer more later.
