Can't speak for samjam but I booked the Novotel. Close to the venue, looks pretty good, and had a good refundable rate.

    I just did the same

Tempted to book an Albany room. If it turns out to be Hartford I can cancel and just drive home afterward.

    Do it! what's the risk?

I went to the Hilton website to check on room rates in Lexington. Looks like all but a few of the hotels are booked. Is there another event that weekend? Rolex 3 day is the next weekend. Could be setup for that. I poked around and didn't see anything else. Is it all of you guys booking rooms?

Most people wait until they have tickets. This is OCDish.
How could an attempt to stay ahead of the game be labeled OCD? Find that assertion silly.
The tour hasn't even been announced. The lottery is not open. Tickets are not on sale. But people are booking rooms. I understand you can cancel, but this is not a standard approach. You don't see why this is OCDish? Really?
Again, most people wait until they have tickets until they make travel plans. I've always waited until I secured tickets and I've always gotten my Plan A hotel room.
this is not standard approach? did you write a book about this or something? to each their own.
No, you must be right. I'm sure 99% of people book after reading a rumor.
Why do you care if I book a room based on a rumor? I put exactly zero dollars Amd zero cents down with a no fee cancellation.
I don't care. Why did you care when I said it wasn't the standard approach? Obviously, almost all people don't book based off rumors. I didn't think anyone could argue with this, but here at the Pit, anything's possible. I didn't write a book, but I do possess an once of common sense. Again, I must be wrong which makes you right. BOOK THOSE WEST COAST SHOWS NOW!
I ll buy you and your "once" of common sense a beer in Hartford!!! Fingers crossed I get to go to four shows this tour. And If it s not Hartford then Albany it is!!
    Ha! I burned myself there.

Booking a room that's cancel-able makes great sense. 48hrs tops after dates are released prices will be very friendly to the owner of any hotel.

Anyone who has booked in advance is making a smart move.

absolutely Tom, I would actually wonder why anyone wouldn't do this

If I know I'm going to a show why would I not lock up the best hotel option, for the best rate, for free?

This is another reason leaked tour dates are a good thing, it helps out us diehards before the masses move in on the action

    Us diehards. I like it.
I like diehards much more than fanatics of obsessed fans haha
They can call me whatever they want as I'm in my comfy hotel room near the stadium while they are hiking it all the back to the boonies because they waited. I'll maybe get to see another show or 2 with the money I saved booking early. OCD like a fox, baby!
Unless of course, the venue is in the boonies like many are.

Mansfield threw me off. Seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. I remember that random little side street across the road from the venue, driving down this narrow road for a good minute before finding some random residential block hidden away and parking there.

Times Union. Is there more than one possibility in Albany?

As always, its not a PJ board discussion without people jumping all over someone for stating their opinion.

Welcome to the internet... Where people come to spew hate for no apparent reason and to watch billions of hours of free porn.

    Booked in Toronto. My goal
    Both NY
    Both PH
    Pitt
    Hartford or Albany
    Both Toronto.

So, I do not mean this in a snarky way, but I have to ask...

What do you do for a living/family life tat this is even a remote possibility? I have a good job, a wife, no kids yet, and a mortgage... I don't have that much free time, vacation, or disposable income that 8 shows is even a remote possibility....

Spending time on these boards makes me lose touch with reality sometimes..

Again, no wonder this band sells out tours... with people hitting 8 shows and spending days following them around I'm starting to wish PJ was a stock traded on the NYSE....
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Time to cancel my Toronto hotel :disappointed:

Booked and cancelled before any announcement haha

What? lol. Friday & Saturday show in Toronto would be awesome! I won't be booking hotel reservations till after the new year.

So far only one confirmed show is happening at the ACC in May '16. http://www.theaircanadacentre.com/Calendar.asp?MONTH_CHOICE=5&YEAR_CHOICE=2016

I have a good job, but not rich. No mortgage as I rent. But it's still rent. Married but no kids which is a big factor. Wife works as well, average income, she will be by my side for the whole adventure. I have Wednesday's off. So In reality this whole thing will cost me 3 vacation days. NY, PH and Hartford will be traveling home after each show , which is 5 shows. PITT and Toronto will require 3 vacation days. And I save enough money to make sure I could do this. If they toured like this every year it wouldn't be possible. A whole year off from NA allowed more time to save. In reality, it will cost around $2000. Which, relatively speaking is nothing compared to people who travel abroad or your average vacation.
