You're talking about a provable correlation between number of guns in circulation, and fatality rates in the population. America, by this chart, has around nine times the fatality by firearms rate as the next country.
nobody on the train ever said that........ right ! too many people think they know whats best for America...even non Americans, all this whinny shit about guns is just a joke to read but hay I'm always up for a good laugh, how about this ..lets enforce the death penalty when murder is commited (not self defence) let's not have a death row, let's just get it done with in say 2 weeks of the sentancing...ohhh shit that's just unfair and too violent right ? we don't want any innocent people killed by mistake right ? but we can sure as shit strip good Americans of thier rights to own guns, you guy's have this micro manage idea to save the world that in the end will come back to bite you on the ass, one freedom at a time...and the best part about it is that you guy's will fall for it every time.

Speaking of pixelating boobs...
I'm a Canadian and a few days ago... I woke up on the couch- about 130am- to full on porn (penis/vagina) on Movie Central. I was stunned. I quickly shut it off before one of my kids (my son stays up late gaming with his buddies on occasion) might venture into the room and think, "Dad. Dad what are you watching?"
I guess what I'm saying is don't fall asleep watching Canadian cable television. Or stay awake when watching Canadian cable television LOL!"My brain's a good brain!"0 -

Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Zero guns have decided to fire themselves and kill anyone.
Right now the people in the ghettos who have guns, didn't obtain them legally. If we remove all rights to buy guns, then we have zero chance to defend ourselves against the criminals who obtain them illegally.
Anything else is spin and thinking too much into.
If we all had a pistol on our hip the world would be so much better. I wouldn't get raped if someone knew I had a pistol on my hip. People wouldn't steal if they thought the consequence would be death.

every weapon bought has to be registered with the state and federal government. Before owning a gun you must take a firearm safety course. Before owning a gun you must pass a background check. Before owning a gun you must pass a mental health background check. Before owning your first gun your employer should be contacted to make sure there are no problems. Penalties for straw purchases and selling guns illegally should be enforced and more severe. Educate children (what age I don't know) on what a firearm is, what it can do, what to do if you find one in you house. Educate on safely storing firearms: pass a law that provides a gun lock with every firearm purchase. Here in nj we have a maximum of 15 rounds for a detachable clip but I don't see why a federal policy of max of 30 rounds isn't reasonable. Don't ban any guns, just make sure people are fit to use them responsibly.

There needs to be mandatory training at the very least. When I bought my first handgun, it was like "here ya go!" No instructions on even how to load it.

Sorry if this has been brought up, but did it seem odd that the lady's fiance and father were being interviewed about 15 hours after the shootings. On top of that they showed little emotion. I know different people grieve differently, but I found that odd.96 Randall's Island II

Well the father obviously wanted to speak out against the gun problem. The rest of them are all members of the news media and I'm sure it kind of like natural instinct for them to speak out. I didn't think that it was weird. The father certainly didn't show little emotion - he sobbed during some of his interviews. The fiance was very calm, but again, he's a member of the media, so was probably just more calm about it that most people would be. He was also probably in shock. Either way, I don't think there is any point in criticizing the victims' loved ones for how they are dealing with the situation. "Odd" behaviour in these circumstance is the norm, and I personally think that they have all dealt with it very well and very appropriately.Dirtie_Frank said:Sorry if this has been brought up, but did it seem odd that the lady's fiance and father were being interviewed about 15 hours after the shootings. I think the mental health evaluation is by far the most important aspect of avoiding these issues. How many of these shooters would have likely been denied a gun? Adam Lanza got the gun from his mom but if he had to go through one, him for sure. James Holmes, Probably this guy, possibly the Charleston kid...Jason P said:There needs to be mandatory training at the very least. When I bought my first handgun, it was like "here ya go!" Then again I am probably giving way to much credit for our health care system to actually make this happen and work.0 -

I keep hearing a guns main purpose is "for killing" when the truth is, it's for PROTECTION. That's the purpose of a gun. You own a pistol so when some meth head breaks in you have a fighting chance against someone with super human strength.
My mother, 88, had a revolver that has sat in her nightstand the last 50 years. She's never shot anyone, never hurt anyone, and the GUN ITSELF sure as hell never hurt anyone.
I'll say it again, guns don't kill people. People do. When people use guns to kill and go to jail, and then kill again, they aren't using guns. They're using whatever they can because IF SOMEONE WANTS TO KILL, THEY WILL. Regardless of Having a gun or not.0 -

I said guns are for protection, and people kill, not guns. Nothing to say about those thigs that are facts! Instead you spew more uninformed hate. You're pathetic.

How are you going to protect yourself from a meth head break-in as a responsible gun owner? By the time you get the unloaded gun out of the safe, and then go and get the ammo out of a locked drawer, and load it, the meth head has already grabbed you, tied you up, and danced around you naked. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Thought this would get that type of reaction but it's true. People like you are the folks keeping sensible gun control measures from being enacted that would stop situations like that from happening. I don't see any other way to see it.JUST A GIRL said:

You, every other gun nut who won't support sensible legislation like some gun owners here support, the NRA and every lobbyist who are keeping these things from happening are part of the reason they keep happening.Post edited by Cliffy6745 on0 -
Responsible gun owners keep loaded guns with fingerprint safes. Takes no time to open.
