I wonder if the Pastornicky trade is for depth due to an imminent Utley trade...

thank God i don't live or work in the city during this whole Pope weekend. what a cluster f to live down there. if you work in a bar or restaurant downtown you are basically gonna have to stay down there all weekend. I get the Pope being here is a great thing for the city but man what an inconvenience for so many people.

one thing i don't understand about it though. they are going to park tour buses in Camden then make people walk across the Ben Franklin Bridge. why can't you shuttle those fuckers over the bridge and drop them off on the Philly side at the base of the bridge then have the shuttles head back to Camden? it's not like the buses would be going into the city. It makes zero sense to park them in Camden and make them walk over the bridge.

My assumption is that my office (20th and Market) will likely be work from home on Friday, but it's kind of right on the edge and Friday shouldn't be too bad.

I don't get the sense that anyone who lives in center city area is all that terribly concerned. Obviously it is going to be a pain in the ass for businesses, but that is expected and I am sure any businesses that rely on tourism on weekends will figure it out and everyone else will likely close. Huge pain in the ass? Sure, but also a pretty big deal. Everyone will deal. I am outside of the closures but plan to venture in and see what's going on.

The Ben Franklin Bridge being closed on Saturday makes sense, but I don't get why they can't reopen it late Saturday to at least access 95 and close the entrances to all of the streets.

Phils jumped from one of the worst to one of the best farm systems in the game in the last year...and will have one of the top picks next year. Rebuild may not take as long as most think:

    http://m.mlb.com/news/article/142897918/best-minor-league-systems-in-baseball

    7. Philadelphia Phillies
    Preseason Top 10: Not ranked
Prospects on Top 100 list: 6
The most improved system on this list, the Phils have risen from the bottom third in baseball thanks in large part to adding four Top 100 Prospects since June: right-hander Jake Thompson (No. 59), outfielder Nick Williams (No. 63) and catcher Jorge Alfaro (No. 68) from the Rangers in the Cole Hamels trade, plus outfielder Cornelius Randolph (No. 97) in the first round of the Draft. Having their past two first-rounders, shortstop J.P. Crawford (No. 6) and righty Aaron Nola (No. 22), continue to look better and better has helped, too.

yeah i was listening to Preston and Steve that morning and they were talking about it. That's gonna be a clusterfuck. Heard that people who work in the hospitals are gonna have to walk to where they work or something like that.
