Also, I have to ask this- and no offense meant to any bikers here- but what is it with motorcycle clubs/gangs anyway? I'm sure their not all bad BUT... I knew people who were at Altamont and they told tales of how freaking scary that was. I had a friend who was pistol whipped nearly to death by a biker gang in the Bay Area. I was surrounded for a few miles by a large biker gang while driving alone on US 50 in Nevada once and was shitting bricks the whole time. 'Scuse my language but, fuck that shit!

So why is white on white crime so prevalent, one may ask? Is it the music they listen to? Is it the white divorce rate, resulting in more white children coming from broken homes? Perhaps it's the TV shows they watch or the violent sports they play. More than likely, it is a combination of all of those things, with the exact root cause unclear. What is clear, though, is that not enough people are talking about the crime plaguing the white community. These guys are clearly thugs and there has been plenty of coverage of this incident. Also, there is an ongoing dialogue regarding both the violent nature of and problems created by outlaw biker gangs. It dates back to at least the 1960's. And in pop culture, the biker thugs in Sons of Anarchy weren't exceptionally different from the gang members in The Wire.

If this incident led to hours of unrest, with giant crowds in the street and a city being burned, the cable networks would have the exact same wall-to-wall coverage we saw in Baltimore.

Has it been clearly established that 'thug' is a racist term? I thought it has only been established in the minds of some. I thought that the term was not exclusive for criminals of the black skinned variety. I thought that cases were presented that showed the term appropriately used for criminals of the white skinned variety by major media sources. I also thought that many here typically thought of 'thug' as the- get this now- stereotypical white mobster.

"Element" isn't a racist term either, and yet it has been used to disparage a certain race on these very boards. This is bigger than the word thug, as crime statistics continually show.
You can bury your head in the sand and pretend that black and white crime is reported in the same way if you wish.

According to your statistics, 91% of black people are killed by other blacks as opposed to 82% of whites. So, what's your argument again?
