For me at this point, it's loyalty. This band, forum, community have been so much a part of my life, brought wonderful lifelong friends, it's a part of who I am.
I could not be more grateful.
I'm not a collector, I'm not a flipper, I don't need everything Pearl Jam, I just need to be a part of this . . . whatever it is.

Its a hobby that's been going on since 1996. Plus I enjoying reading threads about bitching. When I see how unhappy everyone is it makes me feel better.
Hey man, I think I met you once, gave you a ride to the airport from the Hamilton 2011 show. Nice to see you on the boards!
Why, yes, yes indeed! Finally put a forum name and avatar with a face and a generous offer. I hate taking the bus. Anywhere. See, here's another reason. Hope you're well and thanks again for the ride!!
PS: Man, do we ever need a tour again! In North America.
that's the thing about H2TM....he's a total mooch...he drank all my good beer in Missoula.
Its not my fault you had all the good beer mixed in with all the crap beer in the same cooler and each time I reached in, I just so happened to pull a good beer. It was like winning the lottery 8 or 9 times in a row. Until you scolded me that is. You should have had the beer you wanted me to drink in either a separate cooler or in the bathtub.

I couldn't read this whole thing but have you addressed the fact that you saw them from the pit in Moline? That's kind of a decent reason to be in the club, no? I saw them from the pit at Wrigley, Brooklyn and Philly. All 10C tickets. That's why I'm still in. Even if I didn't win those, I'd stick around for the chance.

I'm gathering he is referring to the fact that he didn't get that position at the show via seniority, rendering low member numbers, or membership at all, somewhat useless. seniority used to be a MASSIVE deal around here. Remember all the bitching about seniority placement debacles a few tours back? I would have gone GA too. too many members now to supply the demand.

Even more so because you now have people signing up family/friends for more 10c memberships because everyone can enter the GA draw Then you trade the tickets for shows you lost the GA draw on with fan members that won extra....
I completely agree that seniority got stale. I had a decent amount ( member since early 98) and my seats were getting further back every tour. I wasn't gaining any seniority at all. I did learn that when there's a Vancouver and Seattle show at the same time that I need to make Seattle my first choice and Vancouver 2nd (assuming they don't tighten up the lottery rules for the next tour). Vancouver only has crazy demand in years where a Seattle show isn't occurring at the same time.

Signing up family/friends this is true, however, none of mine would travel just anywhere to be present to pick up those tix for me - even if it were all expenses paid.
Oh please let it rain today.

He wouldn't have got the pit tix at all without membership though. I also don't understand how you could be wondering what good a membership is and talking about being in the pit at the same time. One wouldn't be possible without the other. Thank god i wasn't a member in the days when everyone was talking about where their seniority would get them on the floor. It sounds annoying as hell.
