    Jeremy

Senior year I did a contest called Mr. Memorial and sung Jeremy in front of most of my senior class. I don't want to sound full of myself but I rocked the place out and ended up winning the contest. I am still known by many of my friends for singing Jeremy and It definitely was one of the better moments in my life. I also take pride in my song selection as I could have sung any pearl jam song. I plan on singing sirens the ultimate pjam ballad at my high school reunion full orchestra on staff (maybe that wont happen but nonetheless my story is true)

light years, corduroy, and the fixer I would add as well

    The End
not nearly my favorite song (too depressing) but as my father was dying I was stuck on this song over and over for months. It still hits my like a train if I listen to it years later.

    Release

But it wasn't until I was older that this song had an impact on me....I didn't grow up with my dad in my life...we have a relationship now....a friendship rather, but that song just expresses so much about how it feels to not have your father around...I feel....and the "Oh dear dad, can you see me now, I am myself, like you somehow...." I am like my father, even though I didn't grow up around him, I have things in common with him that are so weird and random that you would think you'd need to grow up around him to have...and "I'll ride the wave, where it takes me, I'll hold the pain, release me...." I'm along for the ride in this "friendship", but I don't dare let on that I still hurt over him choosing to not be a part of my life....and "I'll wait up in the dark, for you to speak to me, I'll open up, release me..." sometimes I find myself waiting for his approval, and wanting it so badly...even though I know it should really go the other way around...but this song means so much to me that I plan to get the lyrics inked on me with a custom wave...

In my past, rearviewmirror and daughter spoke to me.
After that, it would have been betterman, life wasted and present tense...
Fortunately, today i feel really better thanks to PJ : i made some changes in my life since...

When l heard EV sing Black in Milan it brought tears to my eyes.
This song means the most to me.

Also Release. When the audience sang along with Eddie (including myself) it sounded like a hymn being sung. A spiritual experience for sure :)

Yellow Ledbetter...the only song I would pull over to while driving and listen, until the end...that was way back in the 20th century for you young folk...got me hooked on PJ....when I couldn't get
enough of Temple of the Dog...the frickin' music was revolutionary for it's day...Zeppelin like.

It's not played on regular radio now-a-days...but the different tags, when played live, always tweek my interest....Thank God for live bootlegs...and Yellow Ledbetter closers.

"Little Wing" Gorge 2006 pretty much ruined my life...nothing compares after that.

    Rock On!

Songs of every album speak to me in different ways. The first song that grabbed me was elderly woman as I was very lonely at the time, and the line I want to scream hello resonated with me. From then nothingman, off he goes, which I could to relate to in many ways I was on a self destructive path which would lead to a dark place which no code soundtracked , given to fly for the same reasons and with the recent passing of my mum, speed of sound, just breathe and come back mean the world to me. Thanks pearl jam it would be lonely without you.

Nice, must be a good story here...

For me its Of the Girl, I was 20, living with my pals, also was completely self satisfied and could really get into this one while hiking or canoeing out alone. Binaural was the bands greatest hour in my mind and still my favourite record of all time.

:D I took the lyrics as literal advice, moved 200 miles, changed careers, started living life... Pearl jam give the best advice. Other tracks that mean a lot to me- Beegirl, Life wasted, Breakerfall, Sometimes, Small town, habit, Sleight of hand, In hiding, Release .. so many.

Great choice and tale, what is the story behind also choosing Bee Girl? Just curious!
