In my past, rearviewmirror and daughter spoke to me.
After that, it would have been betterman, life wasted and present tense...
Fortunately, today i feel really better thanks to PJ : i made some changes in my life since...

When l heard EV sing Black in Milan it brought tears to my eyes.
This song means the most to me.

Also Release. When the audience sang along with Eddie (including myself) it sounded like a hymn being sung. A spiritual experience for sure :)

EV / London 31/7/2012 PJ / Milan 20/6/2014 PJ / Milton Keynes 11/7/2014 "I don't question our existence , l just question our modern needs..."

Yellow Ledbetter...the only song I would pull over to while driving and listen, until the end...that was way back in the 20th century for you young folk...got me hooked on PJ....when I couldn't get
enough of Temple of the Dog...the frickin' music was revolutionary for it's day...Zeppelin like.

It's not played on regular radio now-a-days...but the different tags, when played live, always tweek my interest....Thank God for live bootlegs...and Yellow Ledbetter closers.

"Little Wing" Gorge 2006 pretty much ruined my life...nothing compares after that.

    Rock On!

Songs of every album speak to me in different ways. The first song that grabbed me was elderly woman as I was very lonely at the time, and the line I want to scream hello resonated with me. From then nothingman, off he goes, which I could to relate to in many ways I was on a self destructive path which would lead to a dark place which no code soundtracked , given to fly for the same reasons and with the recent passing of my mum, speed of sound, just breathe and come back mean the world to me. Thanks pearl jam it would be lonely without you.

Nice, must be a good story here...

For me its Of the Girl, I was 20, living with my pals, also was completely self satisfied and could really get into this one while hiking or canoeing out alone. Binaural was the bands greatest hour in my mind and still my favourite record of all time.

:D I took the lyrics as literal advice, moved 200 miles, changed careers, started living life... Pearl jam give the best advice. Other tracks that mean a lot to me- Beegirl, Life wasted, Breakerfall, Sometimes, Small town, habit, Sleight of hand, In hiding, Release .. so many.

Great choice and tale, what is the story behind also choosing Bee Girl? Just curious!

  • So many of them.. And they change sometimes. But mostly: from Ten: Garden and Porch, from VS: Daughter, Go,RVM, and Indifference , from Vitalogy: Last Exit, Betterman, ( cliche I know but not really hits home when you've been in the domestic violence circle, or ever heard your mother say those words), Tremor Christ, and Pry To, from No Code: Present Tense, In My Tree, Hail, Hail( but I think I've given up on the hopes of finding love), Habit, Red Mosquito, Smile, and Immortality, From Yield: .Can't Keep, Pilate, Faithful, Low Light, and Wishlist, from
Binaural: Of a Girl, Light Years, Nothing as it Seems( I want this song played when I die!), and Parting Ways, from Riot Act: You Are ( I may never find love, but this is hands down the best love sing ever written IMO, and I wish it were real), Cropduster, Bushleager, 1/2 Full, and Arc.

I will have to finish this later, got shit to do.
  • RVM - it makes me feel happy, "I gather speed from you fucking with me" let me leave behind everything that wasn't ok in my life. Just great song.

Nothing As It Seems - I know my bestfriend for 16 years now. A year ago something really bad happened and since that everything has changed. We still meet, talk, smile, but nothing is as it seems...I feel really sad about it and though this song doesn't literally fit, there is the kind of sadness that we are not in a place/situation we want to be.

Untought Known - love this song, but first I didn't like the idea of not being anyone's rival. We are taught to be better than others, fight for position, success and other shit. Now I think "Dream the dreams of other men, you'll be no one's rival" are the most important words Ed said to me. If I make a PJ tattoo, it may be "No one's rival".

Last but not least - whispering hands when I read your explanation about You Are, I read my own words. Great and important song, even if you feel no hope for love. Even if I got shit ;)

  • Inside Job

Not because I suffered from alcoholism, but I think that lyrics apply perfectly to my struggle with an eating disorder, which is why I have them tattooed on my back.

In all honesty, Mike wrote that about his own addiction, yes.. But an addiction is an addiction. So it applies just the same. Hope you beat that nasty thing and remain here for a long time.

The song that means the most to me hasn't been written yet. As far as I'm concerned this world can come to an abrupt end, when the music is over....turn out the lights. Just can't get enough and I hope it never ends. A hundred years!

  • It depends of what I am going through. There are a lot on the list, but maybe right now it is either Rearviewmirror, Indifference or I Got ID. Those are the songs that I've been listening to a lot lately...
