    santos should respond to the ad, buy the tickets, and pick them up at will call with the guy... then kick his ass. disgraceful. but I guess it's just another person trying to capitalize on the free market. what to do?

    Someone should respond, acting interested, and get his email/contact info and report it to 10club. You don't even need to confront him in person.

    crazy, but expected. With the economy what it is in Detroit, people are even more desperate to profit in a crooked fashion.

    Harsh perhaps, but dude-$1000? That's straight ridiculous. What with scalpers, poster/record "flippers", and in-general no-goodniks, I feel like Pearl Jam exists for some merely as a source of supplemental income. Witnessed it firsthand at Wrigley. I know times are harder for some than others but to completely gouge another fan is a classic example of shittiness begetting more shittiness. As stated above, the rules of Ten Club ticketing are made abundantly clear from the get-go. Good luck with your tickets and all. Now if you'll excuse me I think my Mystery Box just arrived (logs in to eBay). Rock on...

    And trust me I'm not trying to wave the righteous pitchfork and torch but the 10c exists to give fans an opportunity to avoid scalpers and ticket brokers (one and the same really). Congrats if you won GA seats but I wouldn't be surprised if people are joining the 10c just to try and flip tickets.

    Its the one aspect of GA that kind of backfires on 10club's intentions.
    Scalper types can now take a shot at 20 bucks a year to go strictly after GA seats...if they score one pair they have made a huge return on investment.
    This is where the old intent of seniority based seating helping to prevent scalping goes out the window. There's no perfect solution unfortunately.

    Poncier, this is a good point. I still don't like GA shows and would rather have reserved seating throughout. I wish they would expand the "lottery" seats to rows 1-3 and 8-10. That leaves senority for rows 4-7, and 11- rest of the building.

    I'm sure there are people that join just to flip tickets. It sucks, but what can you do?? Until the 10c starts making you scan your credit card at the door to get in the show, there are going to be flippers.

    To call it an "abhorrent disgrace" is a bit dramatic. Plus, it's not like someone has a gun to another fan's head forcing them to pay $1K for a ticket....I'm sure that guy will have no trouble selling those tickets for a grand. That's just the way it goes.

    The person is a douche, plain and simple. I've made decent $ over the years as a re-seller, including VH (3rd Row Center) and Prince (2nd Row Center) tickets that I sold for over $1,000 each. As my name here implies, I'm an addict... I use my profits to fund my concert addiction. In the case of VH, I netted about $650 after buying another really good seat, and Prince I netted a little over $100 and got a 2nd Row Left seat. (face on Prince's "VIPs" was about $450.... and the VIP was meaningless... no extras.)

    That said, the two times I got GA from PJ were for Missoula and Seattle, which were very far from home. It was very tempting to list one of them on CL for a large profit to help defray my travel costs, but I respected the band's wishes. I sold both at cost to a 10C fan, and Seattle I could have gotten $500 from a guy standing by the Will Call window... I still didn't have the other guy's $, but I wasn't going to fuck him and take the extra $400+.

    Fuck this Detroit douche. Karma, Bay-BEE... Karma.
