The guy selling this Blue Avocado states in his description the item came from 10 Club. That is deliberate misrepresentation and the asking price is $300! I'm mailing this guy and asking him why he thinks this came from 10 Club.

A friend of mine picked a copy of both (the white Yield vinyl & 2 LP blue Avocado) from Germany at a record fair few day's ago. It's a bootleg. Can't remember the price but they were around 30-50 Euro's each. It's wrong the dude on eBay is stating it's coming from 10club when it's clearly a bootleg copy. Someone will pick this up without even knowing it's a bootleg.

Do any collectors actually buy bootlegs along with their collection.
Bootleg or not it's pretty cool...not $300 cool, but still pretty cool.

I'm a long time collector and wouldn't even consider buying this at any price. But that's just me.

This is a bit poor because lots will get sucked in and buy this but on the plus side once something is bootlegged then its never long before an official reissue - look at itw. It might force Sonys hand.

Maybe these should be reported to ebay. Dont want someone to pay $300. Apparently there is a shortage of pressing plants so you would think if you had the equipment then there would be more money to be made manufacturing official stuff and have a legitimate business.

I contacted the seller and this is what he sent me.

"HI i have been told that there were no blue pressings released from ten club. I didn't know that. This pressing looks like an european pressing, the sound is fantastic it comes with booklet, and like the black press there is no record company info or bar code

If it is an unofficial release, someone made it with to much perfection. To my opinion, it looks better than the original press, i do have a copy of the black vinyl so i did compare them."

He now has bids on both his White Yield & Blue Avocado. I sure hope these guys know what they are doing, they might well do. Some collectors don't mind bootlegs in their collection.

Personally I don't touch bootlegs and hate sellers who present them as official products.

I'd have made it green myself- avocado green.

But what I really want is a LEGIT REPRESSING OF ALL PEARL JAM RECORDS... PLEASE!!

Of course, you may have heard this plea elsewhere. :))

you need to send the items to SLH if you want it truly handled. Reporting it to ebay is like peeing in the wind

It's a shame that this price had to rise so fast. I would have picked up a blue Avo for 30 bucks or so. Why do even the bootlegs have to be out of financial reach? BOOOO!

Please, PJ, start reissuing your remaining studio albums!
  • They started that high.
  • Saw these at a record fair last week in the Netherlands (German dealers)... about 30-35 euro. They are bootlegs and the artwork is not as sharp as the originals and the colors are a bit murky... clearly copies. Don't pay that much money for these!

I've bought some bootlegs but I would never pay hundreds of dollars for them. I bought a bootleg copy of solider field for $50 because the origianal is hard and expensive to find. I've got some bootlegs of unofficial stuff like live soundboard shows from the 90s. Under 50 bucks seems ok, over 50 seems to much for a boot.

    I'd pay $60 for it

Pearl Jam and the 10c should be looking at these auctions with $ signs in their eyes. If people are willing to pay this money for bootlegs of this album, imagine how well it would do properly (officially) re-issued. CHA-CHING!

They look fucking amazing. Even if the quality sucks it'd be awesome to hang them on the wall.

  • Agreed but not at that price for bootlegs.
