I'm mainly curious to know how they were made. I really think they were done by silicone mold, which is kind of fascinating to me for some reason.

I have know idea. Maybe give me some clues to look for. ST titled is blue with black or really dark blue marbling and the edges could be a little cleaner. Other than that I don't know how to tell if it's made of something else or produced from silicone molds. I'm listening to it right now and sounds great. Feels like a record in your hands.

If I had one of these boots, I'd slice a small sliver off the dead wax edge and place it in a jar of biodiesel (my day job is running a biodiesel company). Urethane won't dissolve in biodiesel, but vinyl will. I've heard that urethane will actually last longer than vinyl, so these copies could actually be really great provided there is not a deterioration of sound. I've also wondered how many copies could be made from a single silicone mold- sounds like there are a ton of these boots out there.

Definitely not what the cost in Europe but not bad compared to the originals. I'm pretty happy with mine.

I can deal with $62.50 each for them. I will now compare them to the real things....the one thing I noticed immediately was the Yield boot cover is not die-cut...the yield sign is printed on the cover.. :))

Yeah definitely some differences. You will notice a few with ST. I'm pretty satisfied with the sound too. Mine were a gift but I would probably have bought them.

Two! Two sealed PJ bootleg vinyls just arrived! Ah! Ah! Ah!

    image

    ..

These arrived sealed & in protected clear sleeves. Weird thing is I've heard many folks in Europe finding these @ Record Fairs that weren't sealed at all. That they never came sealed in the first place. I've seen a few sealed copies sold on various sites where the sellers are from Spain. Probably the original source where these bootlegs have been pressed out of?

So white Yield & blue Avocado. Were there any other colored releases?

The seller might just have a shrink wrap machine. Impossible to know for sure.

I don't suppose you can manage a close up of that yield sign? :)

    Thanks!

Kind of funny lookin', lol. I wonder if they just got that off of google images and scanned it on there? Or if they actually used the image from the original inner sleeve?

Thanks MendozK. I'll have to double-check my vinyl, but that appears to put the kibosh on these being products of a silicone mold duplicate.

Not sure but the cardboard on these bootlegs are silky smooth. Very glossy like. Nothing like the original official vinyl release.
