Look I may be a westerner and someone who has never had the pleasure of being on our great nation's east coast, but I can certainly offer my support in having the boys come back there and perform for you...
Now if you all could help ensure that they return to Calgary and Edmonton again... we'll be in business... lol.
Hell let's just ask for the whole whistle stop tour of Canada... spread the love... that's what I say.
Here! Here! More Pearl Jam shows for all their Canadian fans besides just Toronto and Montreal. There is obviously still a hunger here on the east coast for the band seeing as this thread is still going strong
how about a strictly canadian tour after the world tour...they take a few days off, then hit the road again in canada like in '05...sound good to anyone?

welcome to the East Coast Sugar Ray, where everyone is welcome and there's enough cold Keith's to keep everyone happy.
i will divide my tour thoughts between the East and the West. fuck the middle cuz there ain't gonna be any middle any more!
The east coast does always get shafted but i'm glad i got to experience PJ in Halifax last time and I hope I get to again but i'm not holding my breath... ah well opening night in the T dot will have to do
I was listening today to 102.1 The Edge in T.O., where someone named "Brian" had emailed the DJ at the radio stn. named "bookie ?". Anyways, Brian gave Bookie shit for supporting bands who do "national tours" when they are in fact only 2/3 of a national tour. The e-mailer took exception to the bands who usually stop in Montreal and the radio people who play along and call them "national tours". The e-mailer then told Bookie that he wasn't invited to the Juno awards in Halifax b/c of his ass-kissing support of bands who don't play the east coast. The DJ, in kind, said he initially had a pair of tickets for the e-mailer for the White Stripes in Toronto, but changed his mind in light of the e-mail !!
that's harsh. no need to pick on the djs "Brian" wherever you are.
djs are our friends. be kind to your dj, people! (unless they are playing happy hardcore or trance music in which case The Smiths had the best cure such a situation: Hang the dj!)
Like so many others have done here over the past 12 pages, I'd just like to add my vote for a stop in Halifax in 2006.
I was one of the lucky ones who were priviledged enough to attend the Sept. Halifax show. There were many of us there who had waited out 14 years for that night and we were richly rewarded. For me personally, it brought back a renewed interest and appreciation of a band I've listened to for so long. Friends of mine were some of the early Ten Club members (wonder what they did with those early 90's records *sigh*...). I had never joined, but ended up in TC seats (the 'owners' of them didn't show up until about 4 songs into the set...?!?!?). The sentiments been expressed many times here, but it really was an experience and I'm dying to get a hold of a copy of the boot from the show (no cc and old pc with no burner...and dial up..Hey ADMIN...why no PayPal option??).
Keeping this thread alive in the hopes someone will take notice :-) Please come back guys, we loved it.

yay! another perspective, another great story, another satisfied customer from the Halifax show.
Ok..I can't even wait...I was gonna pull the..make the post...wait to see who asks first routine. hahah..but after 5 minutes , I have already given up.
Now..take this for what its worth..Im not making any sort of claim that it is true or will happen..just what I heard....and I got it from the same guy who told me the Stones would be playing Moncton way before it ever happened...well....
Anyone who has been listening in the Moncton area lately..and yes..we get Moncton news here in Halifax ;-)....anyways...the rumor floating around about a Magnetic Hill concert has been Tom Petty. So...I was asking my buddy about U2 rumors...who he says...actually were contacted and didn't dismiss the idea....but are now postponing touring...so..I read in Billboard today that Tom Petty is talking about doing a bunch of dates together with PJ...so I call up my pal and ask him if the Petty rumors are still ripe and he said..Yes..but the clincher is the other major act that may play with them..I asked him who..and he said he's not sure..but its not Fleetwood Mac, as has been rumored. Anyways..I didn't know anything about Fleetwood Mac..but he said he didn't have a second name...anyways...speculate away!! ;-)
That's the age old question these days regarding who will be playing Magnetic Hill this summer. U2 has been mentioned the most but seems unlikely, at least for this tour. Although, Ian Fowler, the city official largely responsible for bring the Stones to Moncton had confirmed that U2 officials were in attendance at the Stones concert in order to check out the site. I've checked on many different U2 fansites and there aren't even the slightest rumours about U2 doing any further shows outside of the 10 overseas dates they had just postponed.
Last week, Moncton's classic rock radion station started mentioning the Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac rumours. The local Moncton newspaper had mentioned the Eagles as a possibly act because someone had booked a bunch of rooms at a nearby hotel under the name Winslow. Motley Crue and Aerosmith are rumoured to be touring together this summer.
Everything seems to have dried up this week.No one is talking about it now, at least not in the media. This time last year, the Stones announcement was already old news. Frankly, the suspense is killing me. I wake up every morning hoping to read an announcement in the newspaper. However, an official announcement was said to be coming in the next 4-6 weeks.
It's too bad PJ don't do festival type shows anymore because it would be great to see them in Moncton with Tom Petty. I could see a huge amount of interest in that. Tom also mentioned touring with John Mayer, which would totally thrill my better half. Sorry for the long post.

I think this is the article you're talking about. Notice that he talks about a tour in "june/july or sept./oct.". If thjat's the case, then that isn't the best news for a moncton/maritime show. Not saying its not gonna happen, but its not great news since PJ is expected to be in europe in sept/oct., and since the north american tour seems to going generally in an east to west direction during may-june etc... One possibility might be for the boys to play moncton once the north american tour is essentially over, and then have them come to moncton before they leave for europe. But this seems rather unlikely given their obvious decision to avoid canada on this particular tour. Not only that, but there's the whole question of whether PJ would even play a place like Magnetic Hill after Roskilde and the policy they have largely kept to involving large concerts and general admission etc.... I dunno, it doesn't sound likely, all things considered.
I too would like to point out how great the Halifax show was in 2005. my first ever Pearl Jam concert, and I cried just looking at the gear on stage before sleater kinney even came on. I couldn't believe that I was FINALLY at a Pearl Jam show, tenth row at that. The feeling was so incredible. and they couldn't have picked a better opener than hard to imagine, my God what a great time it was.
I don't think any show I see in the future will top that PJ show in Halifax.

Exactly! Halifax may be small compared to other markets but this city knows how to bring the noise.
