If it’s too early in his leadership to congratulate him , then it’s too early to criticise him right?

not really, no. it comes down to intention and effort, which seems pretty lacking in my eyes.

think of a race, while 1/4 of the way into it may be too early to call a winner if someone is still trying to tie their shoes at the starting line then gingerly strolling onwards it's pretty easy to be critical of their performance.

or think of a job, 7 days in could be too early to pick employee of the month but if 1 guy isn't showing very much effort and not doing much, if anything, it's safe to say he doesn't deserve the award, or should he be given it because of all the talk he did in his interview and say well, maybe 1 day he'll deserve it so until then i won't judge him or his performance!

he got a peace prize for talk and campaign rhetoric. even if he is doing nothing because he is scared the right will crucify him then what we are really saying is he is more worried about re-election and not doing what he said and what many want. he could've declined to accept it as some of the people who were awarded it for peace in vietnam a few years before the war actually ended did saying when there is peace then it will be deserved but instead he accepted it and talked about how wars are sometimes moral and justified

and i still don't understand why people think the only options are stay in or totally abandon the country to the taliban and warlords. all we're doing now is arming and supporting someone (karzai and his brother) in another decade or so we will probably be sending more troops in to overthrow (if he steps out of line or becomes inconvenient like Noriega and Saddam) while ripping off the american tax payer and looting the treasury. there can be multi national peace keeping forces, it doesn't have to be a US occupation or warlords running around crazy. in fact, early on countries did offer to help but also wanted in on some of the contracts and we weren't willing to do that.

    take this withdraw plan

that is very sensible and gets our troops out and home (not redeployed to another war) while not 'cutting and running'

are we saying Obama is just in over his head? when he pushed hope and change we could believe in and how the first thing he would do was bring the troops home from iraq, any health care reform MUST have a public option, being against the (illegal) settlements....he just didn't realize the republicans wouldn't go along?? so now he can do none of these things, not even make an effort, because he is scared what the other party will say about him?

i could care less for his pretty speeches and empty rhetoric, i want to see some actual effort
    don't compete; coexist

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama

when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'

"Destructive means cannot bring constructive ends, because the means represent the ideal-in-the-making and the end-in-progress. Immoral means cannot bring moral ends, for the ends are pre-existent in the means." Martin Luther King

At least Obama made it because he had one of the greatest campaigns of all time and a lot of us really bought into the hope and change message being sold to us.

Putin on the other hand has cracked down on gays, exploited the environment, fleeced the Olympics, bluffed Obama on Syria so they could keep selling weapons, is turning Russia back into the USSR, yada, yada, yada ...

Haha! I find it naive for anyone to believe any politician's bullshit :) But people might call that cynical...

    Nah. Just being realistic.

I think this whole "Prize" thing should go to the wayside anyway. It's about as meaningful as an Oscar or Grammy or other similar trinkets.

    Smoke & mirrors.
